Alora's Windsong

Alora's Windsong

Herbs hung fresh in the kitchen. My mortar and pestle centered on the butcher block like a crown. I put Storm’s latest drawing on the fridge with the wolf magnet—blobby stick figures under a scribble of blue he swore was rain and magic. When we finished, Blaise lit the hearth. The first pop of resin rolled through the room like a blessing. He sat with me on the stairs for a minute, elbows on his knees, that restless energy in him easing as the house accepted us. “You know Dad’s going to ask if you’re all right,” he said.

The Rogue Healer's Secret

The Rogue Healer's Secret

"The what?" Aiden proudly lifted the parchment, presenting it with a triumphant flourish. It was a masterpiece of terrible stick figures. There was a tall, blocky man with a jagged golden crown, a woman wearing an oversized silver tiara, a small blob representing a little boy, a giant black dog with six legs, a glowing stick figure surrounded by yellow loops, and a final girl drawn with aggressively angry V-shaped eyebrows. Kael let out a long, dry sigh. "Let me guess. The one with the furious eyebrows is your long-lost aunt?"

HIS TO DESTROY

HIS TO DESTROY

Then he touched his own temple and made a gesture like something cracking. Her mind. They'd broken her mind. Tears burned Catalina's eyes. "We'll get her out. I promise you. We'll save her." Gabriel suddenly grabbed her hand. His small fingers were cold, but his grip was surprisingly strong. He pulled her hand down to the floor, to the glowing drawings. Then he drew something new. A baby. It was small and glowing even brighter than the other drawings. He pointed at Catalina's stomach. Then at the baby in the drawing. Then at the woman in the church.

The Boy who Circled Time

The Boy who Circled Time

There was part of a cut off diagram with a cylinder resting on top of a platform with another disk on top and a tube coming out of it again off to somewhere that had been burnt off and was no longer visible. Blinking a few times when she finally managed to get a clear image of what she held in her hands, Gretel immediately took up a piece of tracing paper and a pencil to sit herself down at the nearest table and begin tracing the image of the cylindrical container, filling in the lines of the diagram where she knew they would have been.

The Return of the War Legate

The Return of the War Legate

Lane yelled, but Gendry was already dead. After taking a deep breath, everyone looked at the drawing. It was a humongous figure, capable of standing up like a human, but had an extremely menacing and hideous face. It was as though its face had been burned. "What is that? An alien?" "I don't know…” "What could it be?" Nobody could identify the horrifying monster Gendry had drawn. It looked like a being of pure evil. Rozi's expression changed when she saw the drawing. Adrian noticed and asked, "What's the matter, Rozi? Do you know what this is?"

The OutCasts

Before Nitro can fires, SpeedBlade cuts his blaster in half. "Nooo," he screams before SpeedBlade punches and knocks him out. "Ha," JumpStart says, snapping his fingers and pointing at Nitro. "You lose, Gassy." Chuckling as he looks around, his smiles turn when he sees our faces. "I know, I know, it was a crazy plan," JumpStart starts, holding up his hands, "But hey, you know, it works." Getting up, I walk up to JumpStart. JumpStart lending back, he holds up his hands again.

Daddy's Issues

Daddy's Issues

MARCH 20, 2013. | 10:23am — INT. SILVER RIDGE HEIGHTS. SLATER RESIDENCE. LIVING ROOM. DAY. — GAEL SLATER sits over a half-finished sketch of a dragon. A rough outline that shows his artistic prowess. Frustrated, Gael crushes the paper. Throwing it across the kitchen, where it lands in the trashcan sitting at the far corner. Lucian strolls into the kitchen, shirtless, sweat drenching his face and torso, and soaking the waist of his running shorts. He glances at the waste can almost filled to the brim with crumpled paper.

I am the dragon IV

I am the dragon IV

“It’s in cuneiform, two names and a black baccara rose with thorns on the stem.” “It’s interesting, mind if I make a redraw for you?” I smiled at the old man and nodded. Milo had also stood up and looked at the rough drawing I had made. “That looks like a three year old drew it.” He grinned as he said that but I didn’t take offence, drawing wasn’t one of my talents.

Mr. Kane Got Blacklisted

Mr. Kane Got Blacklisted

"Larry's son is only fourteen! I'm not mingling with anyone! I haven't even met him! I just gave him a box of chocolates for his birthday, and the kid was thoughtful enough to send a thank-you gift." Keegan cleared his throat. "Ah, I see." Stella huffed. Keegan scrutinized the drawing. "This is pretty good. Especially for a fourteen-year-old." Stella brushed off the jealousy in his tone. Keegan went on, "I remember you're handy with nature painting too. That tiger you did in the study was impressive." Then he added, "Better than this, even." Stella's face darkened. "I painted a British Shorthair. It's a cat! A cat!"

I am on chapter 1700 and trust me this has to be the only book here that I have not lost interest in,i.e, the chapters have not dragged on and you literally are on the edge of your seat throughout the book. Enjoyed the whole book except the last few chapters.Hope the story doesn't become cliched now
Aileen AC
What makes this story good are the characters, mainly the lead characters. Unlike other stories where the leads are usually portrayed as someone omnipotent with multiple hidden excellent identities, both Stella and Keegan have their own flaws and weaknesses, which made their characters more charming

His contract Bride, His secret child

His contract Bride, His secret child

I put it on the table. I looked at the kitchen. At the star sticker. At the drawing on the table. At the three figures. And now the six. Eli's drawing of the five had been joined by Mara's drawing of the gap. Side by side. All on the table. All stayed. All category eight. Mom looked at the drawings. She looked at me. She said: "Can I tell you something?" "Yes," I said. She looked at the drawings.
