Kabir asked, placing his hands gently on Kavish's shoulders. Kavish looked up, his eyes sparkling with excitement. "I'm making a family drawing, Daddy! See!" He proudly turned the paper toward Kabir, revealing a colorful array of bear-like figures, each one distinctly different in size. Above each bear, he had written names with arrows pointing to their respective figures: Edhaa, Kavish, Mumma, and Daddy. Kabir's heart swelled with warmth as he took in the artwork. "Wow! Breaking all the crockery kind of helped, huh?" he chuckled, a smile spreading across his face.

Something else. The dry-erase board squeaked as I drew out the zone entry diagram. Three arrows, red circles, two “X” marks, and a big blocky #17 in the neutral zone. The boys weren’t listening at first. Some of them were laughing behind gloves. Some were checking their phones under the bench. One guy in the corner was literally sniffing his protein shake like it offended him. And Blaze? Blaze was pretending to fall asleep—head tipped back, mouth slightly open, one hand dramatically resting on his chest like he’d fainted from boredom.

The bottom was a picture of two people, but it looked strange, with only two circles for the head and ten straight lines forming the shape of the body and limbs. Turns out she was just focusing on drawing this. - You and me? – He pointed at himself, then pointed at her and asked. - Right. - She smiled and replied. Under the flickering candlelight, her innocent eyes twinkled like stars in the sky, and her smile was as bright as the sun, reminding him of his ex. Eirlys also drew him and her. He still hung the painting in the middle of the drawing room, not destroying it. - Okay, Lucasta, now I'll teach you how to draw. Come with me.

All I see is carnage and bad things, and I have to close my eyes as we get to the edge. Then I open them in one breath. And in the middle of the pit is a drawing of a glyph, traced on the ground with blood.

“Mommy, Daddy, look!” Thomas turned off the stove, wiping his hands on a towel before crouching down to her level. “Let’s see this masterpiece.” Lily carefully held up the paper. The dragon she had drawn was big and colorful, with red wings, yellow flames, and a green tail. It was messy, with crayon lines darting everywhere, but it was full of heart. “Wow,” Thomas said, his voice filled with awe. “That’s the coolest dragon I’ve ever seen.”

Exiting the school I went straight towards the school bus. As I did, I heard a loud vrooming sound of a motorbike. I turned towards the sound to see Connor sitting on his motorbike; both of his hands were on the handlebars, and he was wearing his helmet. His head faced me, and though he wore his dark helmet, I could feel his powerful gaze all over my skin, indicating that he was looking at me. The sound of the bike was his way of gaining my attention.

That just seems sadistic in my opinion. And I have been told I was sadistic. Multiple times. Not judging more, I flipped to another page. This one is a drawing. A blackhole. I don’t know what makes them think anyone wouldn’t get the drawing. It was quite fucking clear. But there was a scribbling in bold letters that says, ‘The Black Hole’. I wanted to find the owner and give them a small upside for whatever shit this is. Seeing their taste for a gift though, nothing else should surprise me.

He saw her body, the forms of her muscles were smooth however they were obviously solid and strong. Looking openly at Asher, their eyes met as he suddenly turned around. Haya rolled her eyes and knelt down once more and played with the cell phone. Asher put on the shirt and went to Haya once more. He saw her drawing on the table. "Did you draw it?" Asher asked him. Haya gestured, "Okay." Haya's curt reply, while still reaching for the wireless. Asher took his drawing and looked closely, it was pink and looked at Haya's different drawings.

Al asked. “Because he found mine.” “It’s too small.” “He has big head.” I bit the inside of my cheek to keep from laughing. Gabby picked up a yellow crayon and began drawing circles beside the two-dimensional version of Rafael. “Lemon tree,” she explained before anyone could ask. The tree looked more like broccoli with chickenpox, but I respected the intention. Al leaned closer. “Draw vomit.” “No.” “He saw my vomit.” “It’s ugly.” “You said my face ugly too.”

"Something like that." She nodded slowly, turning this over. Then she picked up her pencil and went back to her picture, and the kitchen was quiet again except for the scratch of her pencils and the wind in the hedgerows outside. I looked at the drawing she'd given me, now propped up against the wall by the window. Two figures, one tall, one small. Holding hands. Both with big smiles. My stomach turned again, a slow, rolling protest. I pressed my palm flat against the table and breathed through it.
