“Please approach the chalice, Rowyn Vale. Use the blade to make a small incision on your palm. Let three drops of blood fall.” I nodded, swallowing hard. My fingers trembled as I gripped the ceremonial blade, and sliced a shallow cut into my palm. One drop. Two. The third drop hit the liquid, and the entire damn room hissed. The chalice exploded in purple light, deep and swirling like someone poured a galaxy into it. Smoke curled into the air, and I blinked fast when glowing letters started forming above it, horrifyingly clear. Vaelryn. Godkiller Heir. 13 Magics.

June took in a deep breath and slide his room door open, to his surprise he saw Apollo and Levi standing there, glaring at eachother. "How long have you two been here?" June asked. Levi broke the eye contact first to smile at June. June saw a small victorious smile flash on Apollo's face before he too faced him. "Master, I came to get your blessings for today's performance," Levi gushed. True he accepted the fact that, June will not love him back. But it was hard for Levi to move on. "Oh, wait I have something for you!" June said, slapping his forehead. He reached for his inner pocket and pulled out a sliver bracelet, with a small citrine craved into it.

She better get used to it—with Kaia, Zoe, Summer, and Zoe’s warriors, the she-wolf energy in this group could power a nation. While Mom and Mist start sketching a strategy, Gondul turns to another Valkyrie. “Find Selene, Thor, and Hecate. We need them now. Go!” The Valkyrie doesn’t respond. She just whistles, and one of those stunning white horses bursts from the trees. She swings onto its back, kicks her heels, and is airborne—lightning cracking in her wake.

“To break me.” Dwayne’s jaw ticked. “And to get you,” he muttered, eyes locking onto mine. “If she wants a fight, she’s got one,” Valkyrie swore. I reached for her, gripping her hand tight. “We’re getting Genna back.” Valkyrie squeezed my hand, her nails digging into my skin. “No,” she said, her voice like steel. “We’re ending this.”

And in that instant, Evelyn heard her own voice echo inside her head. “You are me. I am you. Let go… and Valenfort will be ours.” Evelyn staggered, trembling. Blood dripped from her palms, rising into the air spinning around her like crimson stars. Lucien shouted, “Evelyn, fight it! Don’t let it take you!” Too late. A surge of energy exploded outward, shaking the battlefield. The blood beneath the streets rose, linking Evelyn and Genesis in a colossal crimson chain. Genesis smiled. “Good. Together, we can erase the boundary.”

We’d always done it that way, and always would. He nodded. “Do you know the oath?” “I do, boss.” “Alright then. Karma, sambuca, please. Shotgun, when you’re ready.” She poured three shots, and was ready with a lighter. Good ol’ flaming sambuca. “I, Frank ‘Shotgun’ Yates, stand here today to pledge my loyalty to the Valkyrie, my club, my crew, my family on two wheels. To my fellow Valkyries, I swear to have your back on every road and every ride.

Axel shot me a sideways glance, his eyes narrowing slightly before returning his attention to her. "We appreciate your hospitality," Axel began, clearing his throat to continue, but Valkyrie cut him off with a wave of her hand. "I am Valkyrie, remember?" she repeated, her eyes glinting with a knowing light as she flashed her rotten teeth once more. Valkyrie's eyes seemed to cloud over, her gaze drifting inward as she spoke. "She is feeling a sharp pain... because she has refused to regenerate her bond with her mate. And she is pregnant." I felt like I'd been punched in the gut, my eyes wide with shock as I stared at Valkyrie. But Axel's face remained impassive, his expression a mask of calm.

I yanked my hand away in fright. With a huff, he shifted my thighs toward himself. I cried out. This is not how I planned on loosing my virginity. It wasn't in this way. Not now, not ever. Pounding my fist in his chest, I wiggled my body. I don't know what he did to my hands but I noticed I couldn't lift it. I was weak and exhausted. It was then I realized that he had injected me with a syringe. I could only cry and scream but my whole body stiffened.

"I remember the rain." "Then let's make it pour," I said, my own wings exploding from my shoulder blades in a cloud of "Obsidian-Violet" ash. "Insolent prototypes!" Vane roared, his white-gold suit flaring as he backed toward the obsidian sphere. "You think a handful of memories can stop the 'Genesis' engine? The code is already compiled! The world is already dead!" He slammed his hand against the sphere's surface, and the "Void-Gold" chains didn't break—they extended. They whipped through the vacuum like metallic serpents, targeting Dante’s wings and my throat with a speed that left trails of silver light in the dark.
