Ghost Hunter Book Novels & Stories

"Keep it steady!" I regained my footing between the bags, aimed, then took another two shots. One hit his upper arm, the other his shoulder, but he kept coming, unfazed by the gushing holes. I shifted my weight onto my other foot and grinned. I might not have stopped him, but the Thornblood dipped bullets had punctured him, binding shade and host to the same satisfying fate. I fired one last time, hitting him strait between his soulless eyes.

But he would find out, because he was Venator, a state-approved hunter whose job it was to get the prole plague under control. For five tense minutes Gian drove the car through the streets with a lead foot. Fortunately, he knew his way around this part of town very well and so it was easy for him to find the address. However, he stared at the proper roadside parking. He just stopped across the front of the house and then they just had to follow the screams. Maddox just took the time to rush to the trunk and get his hunting rifle when he followed Gian across the driveway of a local family house.

She wasn't looking for love but he made sure to snatch the bit of her truce leaving her with no choice but to go with Agatha. Silvia still felt goosebumps recalling the vision she had in that guest room at Catherine's wedding when Hunter cornered her. It was Hunter, he was coated in blood from head to toe, reeking of terrifying death while prowling towards her with an ax in his hand. Murder danced in his demonic eyes and she knew it was her end as he lunged at her. They say being a seer was a blessing but only if they knew.

I began to chant as I felt the blood of Ares mixing with my own until I could feel his power coursing through my veins. I lift my hand and outstretched it until my long black fingernail was technically touching the barrier around the clearing. I watch as the tip of my nails began to bend until it melt. I smirked before retracting my hand. "Ester darling, I see you are not happy that I am visiting you today." I spoke and summoned one of my crows. This one name was Ghost, he had a liking for lost souls that lingered on earth. He could spot them quickly, something I have used him for occasionally when I want to suck some of the souls power. There is nothing more delicious than a wandering soul.

When I stepped into the hall, Jason caught my arm. “Aria....” “I’m going to the library,” I said. “There’s a book. In the restricted wing. On Binding Hungry Spirits.” He stared at me. “You can barely walk.” “I can remember,” I said. “And that’s enough.” The library was empty. I found the book hidden behind a false panel, its pages brittle, ink faded to rust. It spoke of the Hollow Revenant: born from the first soul denied burial, bound by blood-oaths, sustained by external animus.

He seats himself on the chair in front of the table and the conversation starts. “We were actually hunting that yokai for some years now… You probably wouldn’t know the term ‘hunting’ here. Or do you?” “No. I do not.” “Okay. I’ll explain it in simple terms. There are three categories under which people or humans in general fall under… The cast, the off-cast and the hunters. Well, only if you’re out of your mind will you take the hunting route. My point being that the cast can interact with spirits, dead people, apparitions if they have not passed into the afterlife and they decide to stick around as a rumour. The off-cast are those idiots who can’t see these apparitions and they decide to us

Even so, he’d refused to dismount until she was taken away. He’d hoped to have a clearer idea of just what was happening to the cook’s boss as he entered the camp, but he couldn’t move past the pain and sorrow of the spirits that haunted it. That’s why he decided to purify them and send them on their way. Only then would he have a clear channel to the evil that was destroying the man they called Ian. Now, seeing the naked demon woman fighting the flames to get to them, he understood. He was dealing with a demon succubus, not a restless spirit. Demons are often attracted to the darkness of locations where mass death and trauma took place.

“I don’t get it. You said spirits and ghosts. Isn’t a spirit a ghost?” She shook her head. “A spirit is free flowing and intelligent. It knows no boundaries and can come and go at will. A ghost is basically trapped energy. Ghost hunters often refer to them as residual energy. Ghosts often don’t realize that they died. If they do, they aren’t able to understand where to go and what to do, so they cling to the familiar.” “Can I ask you something without you getting upset with me?” I stammered, hesitantly.

I smiled as a plan formed in my mind. “G****e! Set destination of El Delirio!” I instructed. I think the device was just happy to have a destination as it directed me to a road. I have no idea what the speed limit is here, and I don’t care. I need to reach El Delirio fast but without losing Blaine. I know there is said to be a nest of forty vampires there. The last hunter that went after the nest took five men with him, and only he limped out of there a few pints of blood short but alive.

I nodded to Xavier, he had every right to hate me, and if that made him feel better, then I would take it. I closed my eyes as he raised the knife and waited for him to plunge it deep into my chest. To be continued… (This book is a Duet, the Hunter and The Hunted. The Hunted i still being written, please see my website for more information. It is on my to be written list after I finish my final revisions of my main series and the spin off completion.)
