I call ghost, he got more than one skill, and opening closed-door virtual and real ones are one of his many skills. He uses his key locks tools and messes with the door for a bit until it opens. Finally, I walk down with ghost behind me, I find a small girl laying naked on the floor. She's thin, too thin, her blond hair match mine only hers is dirty and matted on her head. Her blue eyes are hardly open, I can see bruises all over her fragile body. Taking off my shirt I cover her quickly and pick her up leaving this hell behind. "You're safe now baby sister" I whisper in her ears she closes her eyes letting darkness take her.

The call is picked up at once. "Hello," a deep, masculine voice cuts through the speaker. "Hello," I reply. I skip the introduction, keeping my identity vague, as the other person's identity is also anonymous, except for their trade name, "Ghost," and their reputation as one of the best for extracting information about anyone or anything. "Am I speaking with 'Ghost'?" I ask. "You are," the man confirms.

I knew this man was going to be my doom and I was willing to embrace that doom with opened arms. Silently, I raised a brow, indicating that his presence confused me seeing how he was a stranger who just barged into my space like he owned the place. With an outstretched hand, his deep, rough voice reverberated. “I’m Ghost.” I took his hand, shaking him professionally but startling at how small my hand was compared to his. “Ghost?” I repeated and he hummed a response. “A messenger for the Sanchez’s.” I immediately withdrew my hand from him with a snare. “My meeting was scheduled with the head of your famiglia.” Again, he hummed a response as he threw himself on the couch with a sigh.

I snapped, crossing my arms. He grinned and licked his lips. “I can see why he picked you. I’m Ghost, the Beta of Venom,” he said, reaching for my hand. I cringed, but let him take it, he kissed the back of it. Ghost … you certainly will be soon if I can help it. Please don’t haunt me though, that’s all I need. “The walk over here made me get quite a thirst, you have a drink by chance,” I asked, giving my best smile, polite but not overly forced. Something told me this guy didn’t get many females to himself, Beta or not.

The fabric slipped slightly, exposing more of my skin to his gaze. “And me?” he let out a humorless laugh, “Most of the time, I’m Alessandro Costello. A tech genius. A mobster. A killer. A hacker. A murderer. But then—” he paused, snapping open another button, “Then there’s Ghost. And Ghost? He’s pissed at the world, Red. So fucking angry. At everything. At women. Especially women. And he doesn’t even know why. He doesn’t understand what made him this way, but he’s past caring.” Alessandro’s hand stopped on the last undone button of the jacket, the fabric now barely holding its place on my shoulders and then with a mere twist of his wrist, the last button popped open.

“I imagine it might seem that way to you and me, but they have different beliefs. Let’s just give the fella a chance. If this place is really haunted, he’s the one to help us. Besides, it would me mighty rude of us to have him come here and then turn him away.” Melody’s lower lip protruded forward as she contemplated his words. “You said it was haunted. Now you say if it is haunted. Which is it?” “I don’t rightly know for sure. I’m not an expert with ghosts.” Adam grabbed the coffee pot and a cup. “I say we give the guy a chance. Lord knows, I’m not worth a salt when it comes to spirits.” Melody looked at her father with raised brow. “Do you think it’s haunted too, father?”

I told her some truth, and the ghost rejoiced, "Yes! She is talking to me! You said it! You are talking to me, Sydney!" "Stop that, Syd. It's not funny anymore." My friend commented, looking so unusually freaked out by me, and I just smiled a cheeky one at her. "Oh, I could kiss you right now, Sydney. Stop being so cute! Thanks in advance if you really are going to talk to me, by the way. It means so much to me. That's your ride? I'll go in with you." The ghost let out, sounding so delighted, and walked ahead to the car, while I... I still can't process in my nervous system what she just said. Kiss what?
