Nick exclaimed. He immediately pointed his thermal camera on top of the railing and what he got was a sudden significant temperature drop. "I got a temperature drop right there." He added. They quickly came to his side to see it with their own eyes. And, what they saw was definitely a crucial temperature drop. It is believed that ghosts/spirits use the energy in their surroundings to recharge themselves or for their manifestations. Sometimes, they'll absorb the thermal energy around themselves which usually results in a considerable drop in temperature. This often indicates that a certain unknown entity is present at that spot. Otherwise, what else can cause such an alteration in temperature

I had no emotional attachment to her at all. The body was really torn up and I inspected it very carefully using a magnifying glass. “Vampires have learnt to disguise their kills to make it look like animals have attacked them.” Lucas said. “I know. And that’s why I’m looking for anything I can. You haven’t done an autopsy yet or examined these bodies really closely?” I asked. “Not yet. I guess I wasn’t ready to deal with this yet.” Astrid said. “I don’t blame you. It’s fine.” I said. But I kept looking for anything that I could find.

It said, sounding sure of itself. “Maybe an animal just took its last breath.” The other opined, “It’s the dark forest. Things die by the second. Let’s go.” “No. Just wait a second. If I am right, it means one more soul in the bag.” He stated gleefully and walked around, kicking everything in sight. I knew that move. It was a ghoul’s tactic aimed at catching anything that thought it could outsmart it by holding its breath. It was general knowledge that a ghoul would kick everything - including a dead animal - for days to ascertain it was truly dead and not pretending.

I gibed, pivoting on my heels so quickly, hoping to catch a glimpse of him, but I met none. “To your right, Cara.” His voice floated in the air like a grating sound of metal to metal, making me instantly wince, and the fear I was trying to bury came clawing back into the surface. My attention was whipped to my right, seeing an old bulletin board pinned with many stolen pictures. My breath caught in my chest, seeing the image of myself kissing a shadowed face man inside my condo. It was him, my phantom, and this picture was taken at my last birthday party and then up to the very recent happenings of my life.

Before he could react, his phone rang urgently. "Hello?" A cold voice answered, "Mr. Hart, we received a report. We found a woman's corpse at one of your rental properties."

She looked at him as though she wished she could drag him into the grave to keep me company. "Grayson," my mother-in-law added, her voice shaking as she held out my death certificate. "It's true. Belle is gone. This is the proof." But Grayson didn't even glance at the paper. His expression remained cold and dismissive, his tone steeped in annoyance. "You'd go so far as to fake a death certificate just to keep this charade going? Isn't this a bit much? Aren't you ashamed of yourselves?"

He tried to trace the IP; the Ghost bounced the signal off a satellite in Antarctica, a toaster in Tokyo, and a library in Brazil. But Altair was Vespera Thorne’s son. He didn't just know code; he knew architecture. He realized the Ghost wasn't trying to steal the money. The Ghost was leaving a tag. Altair stopped fighting. He watched the Ghost reach the center of the vault. It didn't take the billions. It simply planted a flag—a small, ASCII art skull—and vanished. CONNECTION TERMINATED. The room went silent. The red lights faded back to blue. "Damage report," Altair asked.

He looked again at the book I was carrying and let out a sigh, as if what he was about to say weighed more than he had expected. “What you saw last night…” he began, his eyes serious, “wasn’t a nightmare or a hallucination. Scarlett, the creature that almost drowned you is a gorgon. A princess of the lake, to be exact.” The words barely seemed real, and for a moment I thought it had to be some kind of joke. “A… gorgon?” I repeated, incredulous. “Like in the legends?” “Yes.” Alex nodded, his expression completely certain. “I don’t know why a lake princess attacked you, but I promise I’ll find out.”

After a while, a stooped skeleton slowly stood up from the layers of bones. As soon as the skeleton stood up, it began to grow black flesh. In just a few seconds, several new ghost shadows appeared in front of Caspian. These ghost shadows seemed to hate and be afraid of Caspian. After glaring at him with sinister eyes, they flew quickly to the darkness around them. "Divine Souls reborn, but not very similar." Caspian frowned slightly. At this time, the strange ghost shadows were not the only ones. Another thing was that Caspian found that the hole he had just entered had disappeared.

Instead of feeling sad, she smiled widely. She jumped off the bed, slid the glass door to the side and went to the balcony. There, she inhaled a deep breath. After a while, she chuckled alone. Once again, she recalled the frivolous dream of last night. The long-haired blond with the beautiful appearance lingered on her mind. “What am I thinking? Someone like that cannot exist in this world.” She shook her head. She smiled all alone at the balcony while thinking of him. She felt a weird kind of relief after knowing the ghost she saw in her dream wasn’t a female. She thought it was funny but at the same time, it was impossible to forget such a person who possessed an appearance that was like n
