“It is bad,” Luca said, but there was something in his tone. “You’ve been weird as hell lately, Ash. Zoning out. Ditching plans. And now you’re ghosting lunch for some guy you just met?”
I felt my stomach twist. “I’m not ghosting anyone. I said I’m sorry.”
“Yeah, you did.” Luca studied me another beat, then shook his head and unpaused the game. “Whatever, man. Just… text next time.”
