Blood covered the walls the night my best friend, Cody Colfax, was murdered. His body twisted and twitched before my eyes, like a fish out of water splashing around on a boardwalk without anyone to put him back. The possession of his body from the unknown source, the scientists call 'The Ghost,' has haunted the bystanders for weeks now. When we found him, his body was half-naked and covered in ashes. The hairs on his arms were fried by the electrical chords wrapped around his arms. The tattoos on his body were symbolic, otherworldly. The Ghost left them there to make their presence known.

Leon panted, scanning the dim corridor as his breath came in uneven bursts. Suddenly, a faint figure emerged out of the shadows—the female ghost. Her face was blurred and indistinct, her presence otherworldly. She didn’t speak but raised a hand that glowed faintly blue, pointing silently in a specific direction. Leon froze, instinctively stepping back half a pace. But time was slipping through his fingers, and hesitation was a luxury he couldn’t afford. Clenching his jaw, he forced himself to follow the ghost’s lead.

It resembled heat haze over a frozen pond. Roric raised his lance, but Kael gestured for him to wait. "Don't waste the charge." Out of the gray mist emerged a wolf. But it wasn't an ordinary wolf; it was a Ghost-Packer. It stood nearly seven feet tall, made of a translucent, oily smoke that shifted and swirled. Instead of eyes, it had two hollow cavities filled with flickering violet static-the remnants of a soul deleted by Liora's "Link," yet refusing to leave the physical plane.

The evolution-fest continued for around two more hours, as the evolutions took some time to end, and after that Chaos wanted to name every single one of these little and measly monsters as well to give them one last boost. Will-o-wisps became Ghosts after the miasma, and after being named each Ghost attained some kind of element, there were Inferno Ghosts that used fire, Storm Ghosts that had wind, Dark Ghosts that could wield darkness, and even the rare Bright Ghost, who could use light! All of them were S-Rank, from measly E-Rank monsters such as Will-o-wisps who can barely hurt a weak orc child, this was a great jump!

Ghost had truly gone mad, grafting the flesh of others to himself to absorb the power of the spiritron vein! She shuddered in fear—it was as crude as it was horrific! Ghost simply shrugged. "Well, you're not getting away now that you've seen my secret. Leave me your flesh and the power of the spiritron vein that you embody!" Laughing freakishly, he lunged at Skyler. "So fast!" Skyler was stunned, her mind barely registering a thing as she only saw a blur before she found herself staring at Ghost's grisly bandaged face. Bang! She raised her arms to block his punch, but it sent her flying anyway, crashing down to the edge of the hospital roof.

He wasn’t summoning beasts. He was dragging the in-between into the now. Cracks tore open in the sky. The air turned sharp, cold, wrong. Ghosts spilled through the veil—wolves, twisted and lost, turned half-mad by unfinished lives. Not just spirits. These were memories that had forgotten they’d died. They surged toward me. I roared, driving my dagger into the ground. A ring of light exploded outward. The ghosts wailed, some vanishing instantly, others dragged back into their graves by unseen hands.

He was just a resource. "The Restore will happen," the Ghost-Elara said, turning back to me. "But not for him. And not for the Sculptor. It will happen because it is the only way to stop the suffering you are feeling right now. Give me the Pixel, Elara. Let me be the one to hold the weight. I am empty. I have plenty of room for their ghosts." ### The Anatomy of a Ghost Silas moved then, his obsidian form a blur of violet-black motion. He stood between us, his hands glowing with a dark, gravitational pull.

"The wolf was just a Loom-Simulation. It’s time to find out who you really love: the Monster, or the Ghost." I raised my weapon, but the Human-Eryx didn't move. Instead, he pointed at Eryx, who was beginning to dissolve into a million cyan pixels. "If you choose the monster," the Ghost smiled, "you choose a death that has already happened. I am the only version of him that the West will allow to Exist."

The ghost kneels beside her, its spectral hands hovering over her still form with an aura of solemnity. “Save her from the pain,” the ghost whispers once more, its voice a haunting refrain that stirs something deep within our souls. Levi, Adrian, Blake, and I exchange a determined glance before closing ranks around Alena's ethereal shape, our love a shield against the unknown forces that threaten to tear her away. “She was pronounced dead but is caught in between realms. Someone or something is hurting her.” The ghost whispers out just as it screams as a hand tears through it. With a collective gasp, we watch in horror as the ghost is torn asunder, its form dissipating into the night like sm

“I…?” My mouth dropped open to say something, but Luca put his hand on my back. Closing it, I just moved my attention back to the picture. That wasn’t there when I took them. Leaning back to I was standing up, I just studied it. “I didn’t see that when I was there.” “Did you notice these?” Heather moved to the next picture. Dad’s supposed ghost was gone, but there were two very distinct yellow… almost orangish eyes glowing above the entrance.
