"My car or yours?" Otto never turned around. His reply came from over his shoulder. "We'll drive separately. See you there." Gideon stood there for a moment, absorbing the distance in those words. The elevator doors opened. Otto walked out with the same unhurried, upright stride the military had drilled into him and never managed to take away. Gideon had spent three years overseas studying business management. Around the same time, Otto had enlisted. By the time Gideon returned home, Otto had already completed his service.

"We've provided the poorest communities with electricity, clean water, and taught them how to do farming."

The double doors of the gym swung open, and as I craned my neck towards the sound I saw the upside down figure of Dean approaching us. “Alpha. Maia.” He greeted us both with a small nod, seemingly unsurprised by my current state on the floor. “Deano.” I replied, giving him a captains salute as I clambered from the floor. “I’ve found something based on what the rogues told us, I think it might be something you want to see.” Dean said to Julius, ignoring me as I stepped closer to listen in. “Okay… you haven’t shared this with anyone else?” Julius asked, his face all business as he rubbed the side of his jaw.

At this point, she did not think he was joining them. “Just now,” Caleb replied casually. “I’m coming along for the party.” Her brow arched slightly. “You know someone there?” Caleb nodded. “Gideon. He is my friend.” Damien offered some context. “Gideon is the birthday boy. He is Ronan’s nephew and his sister Giovanni’s son. Gia recently moved to New York because Gideon’s father was relocated here for work. Since Gideon isn’t used to being away from his dad, Gia decides to stay in New York for a while. Caleb and Gideon are the same age and attend the same class. I asked Caleb to look out for him and befriend him.”
