Gideon The Ninth Chapter Summary Novels & Stories

The same approximate time Kamila met her end. I try not to dwell on the loss surrounding me when there’s so much to be done, when I haven't taken that bastard down yet. “What will happen now?” I ask. “You say Gideon is concocting some elaborate plan to ruin our family, to render her sacrifice meaningless. I admire his ambition, but he does not comprehend what it means to contend with our family; he doesn’t grasp why we still rule after many years.” I bow my head. “Father, give the order for his arrest. I will rally enough guards, fighters, and go to his manor and—”

I growled, crouching low. Gideon’s eyes fluttered weakly. He tried to speak, but blood bubbled to his lips. “I said talk!” I barked, grabbing the front of his shirt. Gideon’s trembling hand reached up feebly, grasping my wrist. He whispered into my ears as his eyes closed. I watched as his hand slowly and weakly fell from my wrist. I growled loudly. My body shook furiously. Gideon’s greed and desperation has led him to his death.

The remaining Assembly guards had thrown down their weapons, fleeing into the snow-covered mountain passes as the grand fortress of their empire collapsed into a mountain of ruin and smoke. Eldrick carried my father down the outer steps, setting him gently on a bed of pine boughs held by two banished hunters. Gideon stirred, a ragged breath escaping his lips as his amber eyes fluttered open, clear and uncorrupted. He looked up at the burning skyline of the High Court, then at the intact charter in my hands, a weak, tearful smile touching his weathered face. "You broke the Assembly, my star," Gideon whispered. "You brought the dawn."

It's really helpful! Janice's eyes flickered with cruelty. She suddenly shook her hand, spilling the chicken soup all over the floor. "Oops! Sorry, it was too hot. You're not mad at me, are you, Nevaeh?" I did not answer and just looked at Seth. He looked annoyed at me and pushed me aside to grab Janice's hand and check on her. "Janice, did you get burned?" I felt so unfairly treated that my eyes filled with tears. "Seth, what's going on between you two?"

"That bitch needed to die to keep her mouth shut for good. I set the archive fire, and I arranged the helicopter malfunction too." Gavin and I exchanged a look. We had everything we needed. "You raised me to be a fake heiress, and now you're trying to get rid of me too?" Tears welled in her eyes as her voice trembled. Gideon sneered and suddenly grabbed her by the throat. "You were just a pawn. Now, you're useless." At that critical moment, Gavin and security rushed into the room and slammed Gideon to the floor, saying in an ice-cold tone, "Gideon, every one of your crimes has been recorded."

He dropped to one knee and gently pulled me into his arms. The moment his raging lightning touched me, it softened. It turned into gentle, tingling currents wrapping around my fingertips. "Selene..." His voice was softer than ever. His rough thumb brushed my pale cheek. "I’m late." His hand hovered over my severed bond. The God King’s pure essence flooded my body, mending my shattered soul. The tearing pain finally eased. Instead, a burning heat filled me—the heat of his overwhelming power. "Summon the Golden Chariot!" Theron roared at the sky. "Now!"

Then Gideon shoved her back, and she slammed into a pillar with a sickening thud. “Marissa!” I screamed, my voice cracking. She groaned but managed to lift her head. “Go!” I stumbled backward, clutching the ledger to my chest. Fear gripped me, but so did a burning resolve. I couldn’t let Gideon win. Not after everything we’d been through. Miguel POV Gideon’s arrival should have shifted the balance, but instead, it brought chaos. My grip on Alex loosened as I pivoted to face the real threat. He stood tall, his expression a mix of triumph and disdain.

Before unlocking this chapter, it's advisable to go and re-read the previous chapter. There was a mistake and it was edited out. Apologies from the author. *** Gideon kept bellowing at his men as he pushed Mia inside the car and got in along with her. His second in command, Fabrizio, jumped into the front seat along with the driver who immediately started the car. Mai kept staring outside as the car turned away and left with others of Gideon's men in another car following them. Something big must have happened.

Gideon said, voice low, “some part of me thought I deserved your doubt. I saw it coming—Kalali’s games, her patterns. I should’ve stopped it before it reached you. But I didn’t. I let her act. I let her run the board, thinking I could catch her clean. And then I found you—tied up like some prisoner, lying there like you didn’t even have the strength to move—and I realized... I hadn’t protected you at all. I’d just played my strategy while you paid the price.” Gideon stepped closer. Too close. His breath ghosted my cheek, and suddenly the corridor felt smaller—like even the walls were listening. “But I never touched her. I never wanted her. And I sure as hell never loved her.” I looked away.

It made him feel a sort of pressure that he hadn’t felt in a long time. “The people of the Liberated are such cowards! Thankfully, they’ve prepared an incredible prey for me tonight. I’m interested in seeing who’s willing to assist them in their fight against the Jackals!” Gideon had arrived at the manor’s main gate. In front of him stood a massive iron gate. It was neither opened nor locked. He paused in front of the iron gate while peering inside. He didn’t reach for the iron gate. Instead, he launched a punch into the air.
