Gideon The Ninth Chapter Summary Novels & Stories

“But money still opens many doors. And fear opens the rest.” I stared at him, my heart beating hard. “You won’t win,” I said. His smile disappeared. “I already won once. I stole one of your sons from birth and raised him under Alexander’s nose for two years.” My hands curled into fists. “Do not talk about Julian.” “Oh, but I will,” Gideon said, taking one slow step closer. “That boy was quiet and easy to control. Unlike Leo.” I lunged toward him without thinking. Eleanor dragged me back so hard pain shot through my neck.

His heavy head dropped onto my shoulder, his forehead burning hot against my neck as he gasped for air, his teeth gritted so hard I heard them crack. “Dominic!” I screamed, my hands flying to his back, my fingers instantly slick with his hot, dark crimson blood. “I told you...” he choked out, a spray of blood hitting my torn collarbone as his fingers tightened into the fabric of my dress, pinning me beneath him. “Nobody... touches you.” “Target reloaded! Draw!” Gideon’s voice boomed through the mist, entirely devoid of mercy. “The King has chosen treason! Fire at will!”

Caspian dropped to one knee, a harsh, choked groan escaping his throat as he clutched his sternum, the silver in his eyes drowning beneath a sudden wave of grey agony. "Caspian!" I screamed, stumbling toward him, my body trembling violently under the pressure of the magic. Gideon lowered the horn, his yellow eyes gleaming with cold triumph as he looked down at the kneeling King. "The First Moon blood inside his heart answers to our ancestral command, little Queen," Gideon purred, stepping back into the dark corridor where the sound of dozens of approaching footsteps echoed. "If he stays near you while I sound this horn, his heart will burst from the resonance."

I couldn’t decide if I should fear her. Or envy her. Or mourn her. She took the ring again and placed it back into my hand. “You still don’t get it.” “Get what?” “This isn’t his story,” she said. “Not anymore.” “It never was,” I murmured. “It was mine.” She nodded. “But now it’s mine, too.” Gideon arrived twelve hours later. A salvage pod with cloaking burn and just enough fuel to dock without detection. Callum was with him. Of course he was.

Quickly returning back to the room, I rummaged through the drawer for a book and a pen. ‘Cassian, there’s something you really need to know. Gideon is not who you think he is—Darth had stolen his body; Gideon never made it back from the desert. The enchanted bracelets prevent me from telling you the truth and he’ll know if I take it off. You cannot trust him!’ I placed the pen down to go through what I’ve written and my heart instantly fell into my stomach when I stared at the gibberish on the page. None of this was what I’d intended to write and yet, the words had turned into… this.

From followers of a lost cause to builders of a new one. “Our first task is to secure the pack. Our second is to find my daughter, your future Alpha, and bring her home.” I paused, my next words dropping into the silence like stones. “And our third… is justice.” I turned to the warrior at my side. “Bring the prisoner.” A ripple went through the crowd as Gideon was dragged in, his hands bound, his armor stripped away. The cold, proud Alpha was gone, replaced by a sullen, defeated man. But his eyes still burned with hatred when they landed on me.

“So, it was you…” Gideon was captured. He was thrown into a sealed, heavily guarded cell. I learned this later because I had passed out from the pain at the time. When I woke up again, Zerrick was at my bedside, holding my hand tightly. His eyes were red, and his voice was shaking. “I’m sorry… I didn’t know you were pregnant…” That day, he told me everything that had happened since he left Denomia. Gideon had fought the Shane family to a stalemate. Zerrick had discussed countless strategies with the family's elders but could never deliver a fatal blow.

I needed to do something to stop it. With shaky limbs, I lifted the sheets on my sides and placed them on my bleeding arm, watching as they became drenched with the thick, crimson fluid. It wasn’t enough. It was never enough. Nothing was enough. I closed my eyes, tired of fighting a losing war. ‘Gideon is alive.’ It was the first time that when I closed my eyes, I prayed that they would open again. “…what I said?” ***

Margo grabbed the prey and went to drink her dry with the other vampire's. "I feel new!" Said Nicholas, excitedly. "You are new." Back in Aota. The burial was over. The sun was beginning to set, a fire was made and Gideon's body began burn. And the crowd began to sing hymns. "The time has arrived to judge the man who killed Gideon."said the King. Warrior's went on to fetch Nicholas but all they saw was an empty dungeon. They reported the matter to the King. "How did he escape!?" The King shouted.

Gideon rolled his eyes, "Lily is just a pawn to do as a sister what I can't as an uncle. Plus, the pain of betrayal by the dearest little sister will be tenfold worse. She doesn't even know the end that I have planned for her and her family. She believes it is all for her to take her brother's throne. The foolish girl fell so easily for greed, jealousy, and false flattery. She can't even control her dragon transformation. I was surprised she even made it back after our first mission on Y's island. But no need to worry, she is no threat, and once she has fulfilled her purpose she will be out of her way as well." Gideon then glared at everyone and most of all at Nora, "Now if my interrogation
