Grayson’s smile sharpened, the kind that looked charming on the surface but I knew him well enough by now to recognize the edge underneath it.
“Glad you think so. Josh—” He turned to where Josh had gotten distracted by pretzels. “Why don’t you show Sam around?”
Josh blinked, looked between us, then grinned. “Sure thing, Captain.”
“Oh, that’s alright,” Sam started. “I don’t want to—”
“I insist,” Grayson said, voice soft but carrying the weight of command that only Grayson Vexley could pull off so gracefully.
Sam glanced at me and I offered him a smile that I hoped looked encouraging as he and Josh vanished among the crowd of bodies.
