I watch her wrap both hands around the mug like she's cold. She’s lost a fair bit of weight, my guess is she’s cold most of the time. I surreptitiously turn up the thermostat. Taylor cracks one eye open and winks at me. "Tell me a story about something cute she did," Gloria demands. I’m taken completely by surprise. Gloria does not ask for stories. Gloria asks for figures and timelines and what the other side wants and why. In all the time I've worked beside her, I have heard her say the word cute exactly never.

It was only the only photo that Gracia had of her. After their parents passed away, Gloria left Wyvern Peak for her parents’ wake. It was raining that day and Gloria wanted to meet Gracia. Gracia refused to see Gloria because she could never forgive Gloria for abandoning them. Gloria stood under the heavy rain for a whole night and hurriedly returned to Wyvern Peak after receiving an urgent call. Gracia never expected to see the news of Wyvern Peak announcing a name list of soldiers who had fallen at Isle 416 not long after, and one of them was “Fury.”

Gloria lay on the ground in pain, her tears streaming down the corners of her eyes. She had never been bullied like this and had never been so embarrassed. She fell in love with Patrick, her mate, chosen by the Moon Goddess. But why did she have to bear Patrick's wrath and hatred after Gabrielle was killed? After the incident, Gloria said to everyone around her, "I didn't hurt Gabrielle." No matter how hard she tried, no one believed her. She told people that she didn't ask Gabrielle to go to the other side of the Shadow Forest. It was Gabrielle who was curious about the place where rogues lingered and asked her for an adventure.

Her body writhed as Roman’s claws sank into her chest. “Traitor!” Gloria howled. Her voice was a mix of disbelief and anger. Roman’s face was hard. “You’ve served your purpose,” he spat. “This was never your legacy. It’s mine.” But Gloria wasn’t finished. With blood spilling from her mouth, she lifted one trembling hand with her fingers curling as she began muttering words in a language I didn’t understand. Her dark magic surged one last time, wrapping around her and flowing into the distance—toward Gilly.

She needed to wash off the blood before she had down anything else. Glory walked into the hot water and sighed in relief. Thinking back on the days even now it seems like one big dream but it has been going good overall. Even though they had been here a week she thought they had accomplished enough. But Glory knew that the rate that she was going soon her body wouldn't be able to keep up with her anymore.

He can't even lie, because he can barely even recall any words. In the six months leading up to Leonardo's supposed day of execution, Goldie spent his time being schooled and trained. They didn't teach him much, but they only taught him the necessary words he needed to understand so he can kill someone. He only learned other words from the people who were talking to him, or as a result him eavesdropping on a conversation that didn't involve him. "I want to..." Goldie slowly utters, "...remember." Katcha raises an eyebrow at him in anticipation, "But...?"

Louis knew his junior very well. The older man finally sighed and smiled. “Did you eat so late that you got sick to your stomach? Shall I order some food here?” Alain finally looked back at Louis. He felt grateful that his senior did not pressure him to tell the story. Honestly, he wasn’t ready to talk right now. In a situation like this, he was grateful because Louis was the first to meet him. His senior was very understanding of his condition even though he didn’t tell him anything. Perhaps it would be a different story if he met Brielle. The girl surely would force him to spill everything. She wasn’t a bad girl, but she couldn’t read the situation sometimes.

If other people actually took the time to talk to him instead of just believing the rumours, then they'd see it too. The winners were announced just a while later, but Scarlet didn't win. Instead, she was the first runner-up. I didn't really see who won, and I could honestly care less, but I'm happy to see Scarlet place so high. She wasn't bothered by the results, and neither were Crimson and Lilac. They were just glad it was done. Before going home, Scarlet took the time to take pictures of Crimson and Lilac wearing the uniforms to post on her social media account. I'm surprised Crimson didn't complain more, but I guess he just completely accepted how there was no way he could get away.

Rosalie glanced maliciously at me, pointed at my bracelet and cursed, "Selina, how did you sneak in? You came here to cause trouble, right? How... How dare you wear this bracelet?!" Her voice was so loud that it attracted everyone's attention instantly. "Is this woman's bracelet the Eternal Sincerity that Mr. Grey spent a fortune on to win for his wife? Today is the first time that Mr. Grey will appear with his wife. Is she trying to embarrass Mrs. Grey?"

"Then get some rest. Tomorrow I'll introduce you to Tyler. He's still at tutorials right now, so he won't be back until tonight." The door quietly closed behind her. I sat on the edge of the bed, hugging the pillow tightly against my chest before burying my face into it. It wasn't out of sorrow, but rather the overwhelming realization that someone was finally treating me with genuine kindness.
