Matthew had always possessed a nonchalant attitude that somehow allowed him to get away with anything. Without waiting for an answer, he dragged me away from the circle.
The moment we were out of their line of sight, the suffocating pressure around my neck vanished, and I took a breath of fresh air. Matthew let go of my shoulder.
"Thank you," I breathed, my voice low.
"What are bros for?" Matthew smirked, holding out his hand. I took it, exchanging our usual grip. "But remember, if you fail this bet, I'll make sure to personally walk you to the altar to bond with Rayna next time."
