There was children's laughter, the sound of propellers winding down, and the soft rustling of petals falling to the ground. The recording was still playing, and Zachary's hands started shaking.

I say, chuckling but really resonating with Pip. Suddenly, it flies away and lands on the ground in front of the tree and I frown. “You don’t like it?” I say, walking slowly and putting my finger out for her to come back, “Okay fine, we’ll let you choose your own name.” As I go closer, it moves back, and I frown, confused. Before I could say anything more, its wings starts to glow and grow and my eyes widen as I take a step back in caution. It starts to flap its wings really fast and the wind around it picks up. The light becomes even brighter as the speed increases, so bright that I have to look away to avoid hurting my eyes and, suddenly, the light goes off and everywhere’s still and quiet

“Oh, gods…” Her breath was scorching hot. Every exhale washed over me like the air from a furnace. One careless movement from me and I would get burned, even one accidental bite and I would be dead. “Please don’t sneeze,” I whispered. The beast blinked one golden eye then, with another powerful roar her enormous wings spread. “Wings?” They unfurled like giant sails, black as midnight and edged with crimson veins. One powerful flap and the beast launched itself into the air. The crowd gasped.

"A MANTICORE!" someone shouted. Many of the prisoners that had been standing near the cages took a few steps back. It looked like a lion but it had dark red fur and wings. The wings did not have fur and looked like something that you would find on a gargoyle. It had a distored looking human quality to it's face which was alarming. The long, thick, powerful tail had fur with large spikes that were made up of many smaller spikes. They seemed to glisten as it tail moved and twitched. The creature let out a loud growling roar.
