I dropped lower and found myself over the ruins, my heart stopping cold in my chest as I caught sight of Amara falling over the cliffside. I waited twenty minutes before I tossed my three duffel bags out the window and climbed out the window after them. When I dropped down to the ground, my bags were gone. Shit. In the twilight sky, I glanced around quickly, hearing giggling coming from the bushes that separate our yard from Shelbie’s, to find her hiding in the bushes with my bags at her feet. “Come on Mar, get a move on it before you get caught,” she whispered urgently. I ran over to her grabbing two of my duffels as she grabbed the third one.

But from here, I could see that the strange silver-trimmed wings had folded up from my shoulders and then backward and down to lodge into his lower back.

You shall be dearly missed, I guess!” With that said I pushed through the pain and unfolded my wings and pushed myself with all the might I could muster and glued the rest of the way to the bridge only, the moment I land on it to hear from behind me one heck of a yell and then, just like a huge bomb was detonated, they exploded in tons of pieces a d blood was everywhere.

I see the scatter of people below fall to their knees in submission. He lowers his head and I see his wings begin to shrink, the scales down his back glittering magnificently, and I watch as his wings retract into his back and the large gashes where his wings once were close up. His scales disappear, simply leaving the imprint that is usually there.

They stretched wide, knocking the flames away from me in one powerful beat. The ropes snapped like a thread. I hovered a few feet above the burning stake, wings keeping me up.

He didn’t even think that Evanora was testing her magic like this, making his wings appear instantly and controlling them also.
