Did William already notify them so we could enter with ease? "What is that truck for?" the goblin asked. "I bought necessities for goblins and lycans." I said it with my gentlest smile. "My gift for all of you." I gestured my hand to the human driver and helper that I hired to make them open the wing van of the truck. "There is nothing dangerous there. Feel free to check." The goblins inspected the truck for a moment before approaching us again. "We checked the items. One of our comrades will drive the truck in. Wait here while we offload the items."

He was getting used to his human form. He flapped his wings. At least they still moved. "Prepare to die, gargoyle," the grotesque figure snarled. Her fetid breath washed over him, making him want to gag, but he wouldn't show weakness. He had a warrior's heart and if it stopped beating today at least it would stop in battle. He swiped at her, but she leaned out of the way. He hadn't ever encountered a goblin that had magical powers like this. Had they developed since he'd been in stone?

“We’re gonna teach this fucker a lesson.” I lowered the LED a few inches and spotted the disgusting thing crawling up the wall. I could try several paragraphs of description, and you will think I should’ve just said it looked like Gollum and save everybody time. So yeah, that’s what it looked like. “A crawler?” I said mockingly. “You fucking roach are the infamous Skippy?” The dark thing tried to sneak into the door to Quaker Hall basement, but I aimed my LED at the doorway, making it crawl back and up toward the ceiling.

Before she could react and hide from the mysterious voices, two goblins jumped in her direction. They were hideously ugly, with broad noses, flat faces, pointed ears, and wide mouths filled with small but sharp fangs. Their skin ranged from deep red to shades of orange and yellow, with members of the same tribe sharing similar skin colors. The two goblins salivated excessively. "D- Delicious meat, stop! We just want to be friends with you," one of the goblins with a shorter height said, attempting to negotiate.

It was a monstrous creature, its grotesque form blending seamlessly with the malevolence of the night. A troll, twice the size of a man, stood before them, its gnarled skin covered in warts and scars. Its eyes glowed with an insidious hunger as it snarled, revealing rows of jagged teeth. The goblins halted their pursuit, cackling with glee at the sight of their newfound ally. Leori's mind raced, searching for a plan, a way to overcome this seemingly insurmountable obstacle. He locked eyes with his companions, their shared determination unspoken but palpable. In that fleeting moment, they knew they had to fight for their lives.

The streets weren’t too crowded and I figured I’d have a better chance of getting a cab in the next town over. Then, just as I was about to cross the street, the deep growl of an engine cut through the air beside me. I stopped in my tracks as a sleek black Ducati pulled up next to me. Even before the rider removed their helmet, I recognized the black leather jacket. Of course. Tyson. I folded my arms, already scowling as he finally pulled off the helmet, shaking out his hair with that infuriating, lazy confidence. "Need a lift, blonde?" He asked, the smirk on his face making it clear he already knew the answer.

He shook his head as if to try to physically knock the unwelcome thoughts out of his brain. Gathering his emotions more tightly under control, he squared his shoulders and stood tall, pointing an accusing finger at the dark-haired witch. "You will not destroy me! I am Brandur of Clan Sköll, known as The Destroyer for a reason!" The woman sighed heavily, and he thought he saw her roll her eyes. "Freya help me," Astrid murmured, raising her hands in a supplicating gesture toward the skies. "Once again, Brandur of Clan Sköll, I am not here to harm you. You are far too important for that."
