The line was so calm, so domestic, it felt like someone had reached in and swapped the soundtrack—passionate heat now replaced by playful sitcom air. “Friends?” I echoed, because I needed to hear the word aloud, to see where it landed on his face. He shrugged, like it was the most natural thing in the world to go from that to casual companionship. “Yeah. Friends.” I narrowed my eyes suspiciously. “You're unusually happy today.” He merely shrugged. “I finally got to see my favourite girl again after seven long fucking days. I'm ecstatic.” “Friend.” I corrected him playfully. Then his eyes hardened just a degree, dangerous again. “Friends who know which parts of you are mine.”

I couldn’t. I took an inhale, and muttered, “I don’t know. But I just know you can’t have them both.” The door opened, and Freya came in. “You’re already here,” she said, then her eyes drifted to Gerard. “And who might this handsome man be?” I rolled my eyes. “This Gerard, my friends.” “Nice to meet you.” Freya smiled, stretching out her hand. “So you're the friend who blew up his phone yesterday.”

He disappeared around the corner, heading towards the front door. I stood there, alone in the kitchen, my mind a whirlwind. *What just happened?* We kissed. Gabriel Flinch, my dad's best friend, the man from my dreams, just kissed me. And it was everything. More than everything. It was raw, desperate, and utterly forbidden. The doorbell rang again, longer this time, more insistent. I heard Gabriel's voice, muffled, from the front hall. "Can I help you?" Tiffany turned around to say goodbye to Rafael, but before she could get more than three words out, a heavy weight suddenly barrelled into her, and she stumbled in shocked surprise before catching herself on the car. "Tiffany!" The person hugging her from behind shrieked, and Tiffany recognized the voice as one of her two best friends, Freya Meyer. "Freya!" Tiffany said excitedly, and the two girls squealed, hugging each other, "You scared me, oh my gosh." Freya grinned brightly, showcasing her cute canines. "That was the aim," she said proudly, causing Tiffany to laugh.

Felicia cheered, bouncing up and down before running to hug the woman. Liz grinned, her long brown hair flowing in the summer breeze. "I get to meet all of your friends from the hospital finally, hmm? " She asked, looking over at Felicia's twin, currently cussing out her boyfriend, who was chasing her with a crab. "I see Vikki and Anthony are still getting on. " She giggled and pointed to the pair's antics.

Groid murmured while watering the plants. “Hey!” A loud call made him turned around. He saw his friend who always visit him in his mini garden. “You’re here again,” Groid murmured before the smile on his lips vanished. As if Fredd Jeon did not hear anything, he said. “Ohhhh~ How good it is to smell the freshly cut grass~” Groid placed the watering plant bucket on the ground while looking at the man approaching his side. “This little old man is bored so I came here,” Fredd greeted.

Tranny inhaled and exhaled.

Before I could delve deeper into my sad, messed up mind I received a message from an unknown number The person sent me a meme and, I just knew it was Kevin. That put a smile on my face, the first one since stepping into the cold, lonely house that I couldn't even call home. That night I slept dreaming of my budding friendship with Kevin, maybe life will turn out better for me in the end.
