Urban Vampire

Urban Vampire

I needed to gauge his mood but couldn't. "Where's Malarias?" I asked. "Shouldn't he be here for this little gathering?" "Malarias is on his way to Spain," Tony said. "It seems there were two deaths last night. One was a Council member, the other an Elder. I think you may have met them." Esmeralda? I was speechless, and there was nothing I could do to hide my surprise. Lordy, what had happened after we had left? "There is to be a ceremony at Epic Cu," Cyrene said. "A death ceremony for the fallen Elder."

My Death Was Known Three Years Later

With a candle she lit herself, she set it afloat, letting it drift slowly toward the setting sun. "In your next life… don't suffer like this again." At that moment, under the glow of the sunset, a soft halo of light finally appeared before me. Just as I stepped forward, a desperate voice suddenly called out from behind me. "Don't go." It was my mother. To my surprise, this time… she could actually see me. Meeting my gaze, her eyes brimmed with tears as she shook her head again and again, pleading, "Please don't leave me behind, okay? I truly know I was wrong."

My Death Was Just "Drama" to Her

My Death Was Just "Drama" to Her

It was my death certificate. Mom picked up a pen but didn't sign. Instead, she threw it heavily to the ground and tore the document apart until it was in pieces. She said, "I'm not signing it. Flora isn't dead! Why should I sign a death certificate for someone who's still alive?" Then, Mom yanked Cindy up from the floor. "Come home with me. Flora pulled this stunt when she was younger. She jumped into the river and made everyone think she was dead. And what happened? Didn't someone send her back the very next day?"

How to Avoid Death on a Daily Basis

How to Avoid Death on a Daily Basis

Which gave him enough stability to remain out of the lava, which he was now over. That left only Marv, who anxiously moved from one side of the bank to the other. I could only catch glimpses of her as I concentrated on not falling over, but she didn’t look like she planned to do any slime jumping. At least I would get rid of one of them. Then, just as I thought everyone had made their move, Marv ran towards the lava and hurled herself to her death, or so it seemed. She landed on top of Nyx.

Under the Wolf’s Gaze

Under the Wolf’s Gaze

“Actually, Merrick, I truly require to get going. I still have that ‘livestock’ to attempt to capture nowadays, and wanna take after up that lead you gave me.” Merrick talked over his bear as he went into the kitchen. “I’m astounded you came alone. Doesn’t Jace ordinarily handle this kind of thing?” He got another lager from the cooler and popped the cap off. He grinned. “Oh hold up, that’s right. Jace is dead.” Merrick had been there the night it had all gone down, and Keegan had to ponder what he was playing at. Leaning back against the counter, Merrick crossed his arms over his uncovered chest and took another long drink, wiping his mouth with his forearm.

The Merman, My Man

The Merman, My Man

“Didn’t you die? I saw you on the hospital bed with my own eyes. Your heart stopped beating, and I even saw you being put into a coffin! How are you here now? What more with this group of people?!” As I said this, I remembered that stormy afternoon. I had accompanied the weak Bob and listened to him speak with his dying breath about his desired merpeople. He then looked out the window towards the rolling sea in the storm before letting out his final breath. His closest friends and I held a vigil for him and went to his funeral together… That was why seeing all of this was so strange to me!

I don't think I was prepared for what I clicked on, but the concept and execution of the the story, white possibly triggering for some, the story actually has great promise! I want to know more about what the old lady said in the dream as well as what happens to Linda.
