“I have a surprise.”
I raised an eyebrow. “Another one?”
“You’ll like this one,” he said, standing. “But you’ll have to trust me.”
“That sounds dangerous.”
He smiled. “Maybe. Close your eyes.”
“What? No way.”
“Humor me,” he said, already reaching into his pocket for something. When I saw the folded strip of fabric, I laughed.
“You brought a blindfold?”
“It’s tradition,” he said simply. “Now trust me.”
I sighed but relented, letting him tie it gently over my eyes. Darkness pressed softly against my lashes, the world reduced to his voice and the faint rustle of movement around us.
