I reply and she grabs my arm again. I'm perfectly fine, I can walk home myself, but she won't let me. We turn our backs on the road and even before we can take a step forward, we hear a shrill sound behind us. It is like sounds of heavy metals falling apart from one piece and scratching out the tar from the surface of the road. Voices of people who are clearly panicking, screaming out of shock, hits our ears. Gracie gasps the moment the sound hits our ears and we both look back quickly.

It was sharp and sudden, followed by a piercing growl that seemed to claw its way down the chamber and into the bathing arena. Friya's eyes flew open, panic flooding her senses. Her breath hitched as she twisted toward the sound, heart hammering violently against her rib. She held herself utterly still, scarcely daring to breathe. The steam hung low, muffling the chamber, every heartbeat loud in her ears. Then came the sound of steel striking stone. The metal skidding across the floor as if torn from trembling hands. The noise sent a chill racing through her, raising gooseflesh along her arms despite the heat of the water.

I heard Gina's voice faintly in the background. “ Hmm?” I hummed, turning over. “ We're in front of your house, just so you know,” he sighed. He suddenly stopped talking and I wondered if he spontaneously developed the courtesy to let a lady sleep but I spoke way too soon. “ Wake up,” he placed the speaker of his phone by my ear and blared the most disturbing sound, making my eyes pop open. “ A jump scare. Always works like a charm,” he proudly said with a satisfied smile on his face.

"Okay, okay, easy. I’m just telling you about my favorite event of the day. Relax and keep yourself calm. I’m not sure if you’ll like what I’ll say next…" I think I know what he’ll say. The agency wants me to accept the offer because I’d clearly stated my disgust when it was offered. "Tic wanted you to accept the offer." Tic is short for Terror-In-Closet. Strange, unsettling whispers emanating from within. A feminine giggle, light and airy, undeniably Freya’s. My curiosity uncoiled in my gut like a dangerous serpent. I leaned closer, straining to hear and then, the unmistakable sounds. Moans and grunts.I froze in shock, fear and disbelief. My world tilted on its axis. "You feel so good, Freya," Claus's voice, husky and content, echoed from inside.

Beyond the movie, watched her react is entertainment enough, though I didn’t want her to realized my impression of her. “Instead of covering your eyes, try covering your ears. The scariest part of horror movies is the jumpscare sounds. Sorry I didn’t ask you first.” “Really? I feel like the ghost will jump out of the screen and come for me.” She parted her fingers to peeked at me with one eye. “Is it gone?” I nodded quickly. Even in the dark, I could see her adorable expression. If only she knew I was aware of her true identity, I would reach for her…

I reached for her. I swear I did. My fingers brushed her arm, Just barely...... But I wasn’t fast enough. Her body went down. Fast. Forward. And then, THUD. The sound….. It didn’t just hit the floor. It hit me. Hard. Straight in the chest. For a split second, there was silence. The graveyard kind. Then— Her scream. It tore through the room. Sharp. Terrified. Primal. Not just pain. Fear. Pure fear. The sound of her scream left my blood cold and chilling.

“I think so too, but I’m already scared to death, so I didn’t say anything.” Looking at the livestream audience’s incessant bullet comments, Jack, who was hidden in the darkness, smiled slightly. It had to be said that this sound effect had really raised the level of the entire livestream to a whole new level. It was a completely intelligent soundtrack. That sound was sometimes desolate, sometimes strange, and sometimes sinister and terrifying. Kaelia's POV The shot rang out like a crack of thunder. The music stopped. So did the laughter. Then came the screaming. Glasses shattered as people ran for cover. Someone knocked over a table, and the wine spilt onto the floor. I stood frozen, my ears ringing from all the noise. My heartbeat thundered in my chest, and my throat felt tight. Just then, I felt someone grab me. “Lily,” Freddy’s voice rang out of the chaos.

I got so immersed in it that when a jump scare came I ended up jumping too. “Ah!” I screamed and jumped on the couch’s back and then came to a realization that I was actually not in the movie. Oh Whew! That scared the shit out of me. While keeping my eyes on the screen I slowly slid back down to the seat and gulped. These sound effects have more of an impact than the scene itself! Maybe I should stop watching. This is not good for my heart. I picked up the remote from the ground that fell when I jumped and turned the TV off. The sudden darkness was overwhelming and I started feeling uneasy all of a sudden. To top it off the wind was blowing quite hard now and it was making weird sounds.
