With Charlie last night? Details. I want coordinates, troop movements, casualty reports.” I pulled a vendor file I didn’t need and turned, leaning against the cabinet. “Nothing happened. I crashed in his guest room. We had breakfast. The end.” She snorted. “Bullshit. You moved in with the man you’ve been in love with since, literally, the dawn of time, and ‘nothing happened’? I’ve seen your PowerPoints. You don’t do ‘nothing.’ You do five-phase plans with contingency flowcharts.”

As they began to discuss ideas in more depth, Charlie found herself sketching furiously, her pencil dancing across the page as she captured the essence of their conversation. At that moment, surrounded by her new friends, Charlie felt less alone hearing stories about the struggles her friends had to deal with trying to change people's perceptions of them as a whole. As she continued to sketch she would stop and join in sharing tales she herself had heard. The group laughed and rolled their eyes at some of the ridiculous things people believe about them.
