Autumn says as she points to a chair but Summer waves her hand. "Thank you but I'll take the coffee to go. I spoke with Anthony and he won't be able to make it back here so I'll go to New York now. I can't leave him alone for too long. He might forget to eat." I liked Summer a lot, she was really funny and nice to be around. Hopefully, in the future, we will have more chances to hang out. "Thank you for your hospitality and I hope to return the favor one day." Summer directs herself to my Uncle.

Still on her knees, she carefully lit them and arranged them in front of Nathan's grave and watched them burn. Summer's eyes were full of grief, but she remained silent, and a couple of tears slipped free to fall from her cheeks. A long silence later, the candles finished burning. Summer said softly, "Nathan, I'll be leaving. When I'm done with everything, I'll visit you again, okay?" There was no answer except for the sound of the wind gusting through the night. Serenity helped Summer up. "Alright. Let's go." Summer responded softly, but her feet were numb after kneeling for too long. She fell forward when she walked.

Pov: Caleb “Bye caleb! I am really going to miss you. I’ll come visit you as soon as I can.” Brianna said as she hugged me. Her hold on me was so tight, I felt like I was being suffocated. I could not believe that the summer was already over. It had gone by so fast. I had thoroughly enjoyed myself. The guys and I took full advantage of the summer sun. We swam nearly every day, we had gone on short road trips to places like the Grand Canyon, we partied harder than we ever had. I grew a lot closer to some of my team members.

I looked up to see the sky, clear and blue as always. It was a perfect day, with a soft breeze playing with the clouds. I smiled and, without a second thought, I deleted Ruby's message and blocked her number. Then I stood tall and walked out the door. Time was racing by. I strode confidently into my future.

In the middle of all the voices and celebration, I quietly said, "I do." A month later, on an ordinary night, Dwayne and I lay tangled together in bed. A call came in from an unknown number. I picked it up without much thought. Brandon's voice came through. He sounded sick, his voice thick. "Congratulations on your wedding." I lifted my eyes slightly. "I don't need your well wishes." His voice grew heavier, like something was breaking inside him. "I'm sorry." I hung up. It was too late. The next day, the news reported that Brandon had jumped to his death.

"Ugh, it reeks here. A little perfume never hurts anyone, right?" Zayden's cough turned into a fit, his face going ghostly white. "Stop... Please stop... I'm allergic..." I dashed to grab the perfume bottle, but I was too late. Zayden was already gasping for air, his lips a frightening shade of blue. "You fool!" The guy with glasses exploded in rage. "If anything happens to Mr. Lynch, you'll have the whole country on your back!"

When my mother looked up and saw their expressions, understanding finally began to dawn. "Why... why does this phone have my daughter's number... then who is this, lying here?" The room fell into an eerie silence. The truth was practically staring everyone in the face. But not a single person dared to say it out loud, that the girl who'd been alive and laughing just days ago was now nothing but a heap of mangled flesh. When news got to my mother that I called the wedding off with the intention to break up with Lorenzo, she looked at me and sighed. “It’s for the best. You aren’t right for each other.” Fighting back the tears, I nodded. “That’s true, Mom. We are not a good fit.” Once my mother was gone, my phone lit up. Gianna sent me a brief video clip. In the video, Lorenzo lay in a hospital bed, his right arm bandaged up and his face pale.
