Yet, the weight of what was expected sat heavily on my shoulders as I stood beside Lady Eleanor, watching the event planner buzz around us, holding swatches of fabric, lighting samples, and flower arrangements. “These would go well with the chandeliers,” the planner chirped, holding up two garlands of faux peonies and lilacs. “Or would you prefer the roses and vines for a more ethereal look?” I blinked, staring at them as if they were strangers. “Um... the lilacs. And maybe silver accents to match the crystal.” “Perfect choice.” She scribbled notes and moved on. My hands trailed over the long banquet table that would seat the alphas and their councils. Everything was almost perfect. Almost.

The walls themselves are adorned with rich, velvet drapes in deep burgundy, framing large, gilded mirrors that reflect the room’s splendor. In the center of the room, a long, polished mahogany table stretches out, set with the finest china and crystal. Each place setting is meticulously arranged, complete with gold-plated cutlery and delicate, hand-painted porcelain plates. The napkins, folded into elegant swans, sit atop each plate, adding a touch of whimsy to the otherwise formal setting. The table itself is a work of art, the deep, rich wood gleaming under the chandelier's light.

More tables were set up further away from the fireplace meant for food and drinks. The chairs were covered with a forest green material, while the tables were covered with simple gold coloured runners decorated with small little evergreen wreaths, candles, and white baubles. Jamie had chosen gold rimmed plates with copper cutlery for the meal and each setting was adorned with a small greenery boutonnière, crystalware and a thank you note from Sasha and I.

The sight hit me so hard I nearly staggered. The entire room had been transformed. Red and white ribbons wound around the pillars, trailing from the high ceiling like a thousand gentle kisses. The chandeliers glowed even warmer than before, their light soft and dreamy, catching the satin tablecloth, which was deep red, and making it shine like fresh blood. The table was set for two, crowned with enough food to feed a dozen. There were silver covers gleaming under the lights, baskets of bread, shining carafes of wine, and cut fruit so carefully arranged it could have been a painter’s masterpiece.

I stood before the mirror, barely recognizing the woman staring back at me. My gown flowed like liquid moonlight, fitted at the bodice before cascading down in layers of silk and lace. Also, Ronan’s choice. It was threaded with fine silver thread of ancient symbols, old pack runes, older magic. It was hand stitched. Strangely, I didn’t want to wear it, it looked like something that had to be frames and displayed in the packhouse.

A feminine voice said, “Enter.” Luceya guided them through the door into the chamber beyond. The room was large, but also had a feeling of comfort about it. The floor here was polished wood, with a fine woven rug, circular and with runes woven around the perimeter, surrounding a complex geometric pattern that was both intriguing and soothing at the same time. At one end of the room was a large, ornately carved desk, with a pair of oil lamps fashioned of silver. The candles were nestled in elegant candleholders, casting intricate patterns of shadows on the tablecloth. The table itself was a masterpiece of romance. A crisp, white tablecloth covered it, with a delicate lace overlay that added an extra layer of elegance. In the center, a stunning bouquet of fresh flowers, a mix of deep red roses and fragrant lilies, stood tall in a crystal vase. Their rich colors were accentuated by the play of light and shadow, creating a mesmerizing contrast. Just on sight I can tell that this Alpha has the finest of everything and expects the best for himself and his pack. Each table is draped in thick black tablecloths with a tall vase holding floating candles and filled with clear glass that reflects the light. String lights and fabric are draped elegantly from the ceiling and there are white and purple flowers on every available surface. Everything is ornate and beautiful but not gaudy. Tables, long and rectangular, stretched like rivers of moonlight, their white linens adorned with lace, gold runners, and ornate centerpieces that shone like constellations in the evening sky. The aisle, a pathway of promise, beckoned with its luxurious crimson carpet, leading the eye to the altar, a masterpiece of gilded splendor. Draped with white silk and adorned with flowers, greenery, and gold accents, it shone like a beacon, illuminating the union to come.

By the left and right is a three-seater on each side. Then in the middle of the U-shape is a cockroach brown coffee table with the top made of glass. Under it is a crystal blue pompom carpet with little strands of wools made of cockroach brown wool. The tiles are also plane crystal blue bare of any design. Three large cockroach brown curtains with large crystal blue daises imprinted on them cover an oak door leading to the smaller parlor while the other two cover two large glass windows.
