"Oh. " The realization of what I was about to witness hits, when Grayson's final layer of clothing falls away and I see his eyes glow to that brilliant grey like that of the radiating moon. Blood ran like water as he turned burning eyes upward. And the black fluid? Brandon knew exactly what it was. The sharp kiss of the Ghoul had burned his insides more than once. Ghoul’s venom. Lethal black viscous fluid that the Ghouls spit and slobbered across their claws, which turned their talons as black as obsidian. For mortals the blood created violent, horrible sickness that ended in death after a few hours, few lived after just one full on scratch. B

My mind echoed the mantra, urging me onward. Without hesitation, I marked his other cheek with a deep, jagged gash. The knife danced across his arms, leaving behind long, grievous wounds that bled profusely. Blood painted the scene in macabre hues as I moved to his chest, carving so deeply that his bones came into view. His body grew limp, incapable of resistance, as he bled out, his head hanging in a grotesque display of defeat. The onslaught had taken its toll, and I could sense his fading consciousness.

Their metal armor is ripped apart like paper, pieces of metal mixed with flesh fly through the air to end up littering the land already stained with blood. Many soldiers turn pale and some fall on their backside due to the bloody and beastly scene that was presented, only the strongest shake their heads and run towards the Ghouls, before they could attack, the Ghouls retreat quickly, tearing off a piece of meat where they were biting, to hide in the shadows and the shattered houses. The soldiers observe the bodies, the abdomen destroyed, you can even see the intestines coming out due to the lack of meat and their necks, with a huge hole where the blood did not stop coming out.

I looked down at my stained hands, the red colour of the paint a contrast to my skin, attacking me with vivid flashes of the gory scene from the book I read through the night. The crunching of bones, the tearing of flesh, helpless screams, and growls echoed through my head incessantly like a flickering light that had no off-switch. The sounds grew more distorted, the image flashing before me growing more potent. Sinisterly beautiful grey eyes taking a crimson shade of red, fangs dripping with blood, veiny streaks scattered across the face like a violent crack of thunder.
