Grey pulled a gun, not the one with regular bullets, but with silver. He fired three times. Kade went down, he was hit on the chest, shoulder and leg.

Bloody and dismembered dead bodies of strange creatures littered every part of the ground around Kendrick. There was black blood splattered on the trees and grass. Kendrick leaned against a tree, breathing hard. His clothes were tattered and he had shifted back involuntarily after the fierce fight with the kanimas. His whole body was soaked with the black blood of the creatures and his eyes remained bloodred. Unable to hold himself anymore, he fell down hard on the ground, his vision grey around the red haze edges. On his back, there where three large ugly and bloody gashes. They were claw marks. The rest wounds on his body were already healed but the long gashes on his back remained opened,

Foul blood splattered onto the ground as the corpse collapsed heavily. Without breaking stride, I continued to push deeper into the vehicle exhibition area. When I encountered two or three zombies clustered together, I remained unhurried. My bayonet slashed horizontally and stabbed vertically, each strike precisely hitting a vital point. Chunks of flesh and foul blood splattered around me, drenching me in the stinking gore.

His grey eyes narrowed and he swiftly toward his left and shot straight in the attackers forehead leaving a bloodied hole there.

I questioned her and Keran and Nyx both grinned and nodded. He lunges, the blade slicing through the air, aimed at my chest, just above my right breast. I recoil, anticipating the agony. The knife bites deep, and I wince my vision blurring. My blood spills, warm and crimson, sliding down my torso. Denzel's eyes gleam with sadistic pleasure. With a twisted grin, he slits open his own rotting hand, revealing festering flesh. He presses his wounded hand against mine, mingling our skin. I scream as my blood blends with his skin, feeling an eerie presence invade my body. It's as if dark entities are awakening within me.

Warning: this chapter contains a lot of gruesome war scenes, it might be triggering for some people so please read it at your own risk. It was a bloodbath, bodies lying everywhere, some decapitated, or without hearts. It was the most gruesome sight I’ve ever seen, the movies don’t do justice to the horrors a person has to go through when fighting in a war.
