Author's Note: This chapter is a boyxboy story. If you are uncomfortable with same-sex or LGBTQ relationships, please refrain from reading this chapter. This is my first attempt at writing a boyxboy chapter, so bear with me. I hope you enjoy it. The Story of Cole And Theo I was already late as of today. Classes were hectic this year. College was getting much more stressful and harder as the years went by. But, I guess if I wanted to be a successful doctor one day, then I'd have to suck it up and endure until the end.

I whispered, swallowing hard. Jeremiah chuckled, though it didn’t reach his eyes. "Don’t tell me you think this belongs to me?" "Then who does it belong to?" I whispered. He closed the notebook. "It belongs to a grade ten kid who comes here often. He's obsessed with drawing and writing about his hatred for vampires." "Why would a child do that? Vampires aren’t evil. They may crave blood, but that doesn’t make them monsters…" I said, trying to defend my dad's kind.

I want to ask questions but I don't want to make either of them uncomfortable, so I start with the basics. "Do you go to school?" I find myself shading the hair of a pony, much like I'd shade the pin striping on a bike. What the fuck is wrong with this picture? How did a guy like me, who works with his hands and seen some of the shittiest sides of life end up here? Coloring a picture with a six-year-old? "Yeah, I'm in the first grade," she holds her tongue in between her teeth as she colors. "How old are you?" she asks.

The knowledge of the December light in the section drawing reached the four-year-old's notebook through the corner that had been built for exactly this. "Yes," he said. "It's the chain." "But she's also making her own chain," Ellie said. "She's not just receiving it. She's drawing it and then someone will see her drawing." He had not thought about this. He thought about it now. He thought about the four-year-old's notebook — the blue cover, the drawings of the quieter light — and who would see it. The mother, perhaps. A teacher. A sibling. The person who years from now would find the notebook and open it and see the drawings of the December light in the library corner and not understand them

Corrian says as we pass a reading nook with oversized bean bag chairs and a shelf full of books no toddler would read. I catch one title, ‘Teeth Are Not for Biting (But Sometimes They Are)’. I raise an eyebrow. “Special how?” He doesn’t answer. We pass a hallway lined with artwork. Crayon drawings, finger paints, but some of them are odd. Red scribbles in circular patterns, shapes that look more like symbols than animals. One has a giant black figure drawn with scratchy lines and tiny words underneath it. I lean closer. ‘The Bad Ones Are Coming.’

He tries not to smile but I see one slip as he undresses, and we shift into our wolfs. We let our paws dig into the dirt and I smell for wildlife. I see deer tracks and point them out to 2010. He takes it down, mauling it. Blood splatters and squirts; it is truly animalistic as he tears into its flesh. I am proud but also shaken. 2010 is just a kid but also a brutal killing machine. Just like me.

Mum says sobbing as she takes over for drake “a 9 year old girl, an 10 year old boy, She clears her throat as I grab onto drake for dear life, holding him tightly. “An 11 year old girl, 15 year old twins, both whom were boys, a 16 year old girl” The room just falls apart, having no idea how to handle this much death. Even pack wars had rules, kids did not come into it. They are the future, even packs we hate send their kids to our orphanage, they know we wouldn’t hurt them.

I couldn't control my excitement and curiosity anymore. "Yeah, it's called Rainy days. But recently I don't know what the author is doing. The story is turning crappy and I'm losing intrest in drawing." "Oh, then why don't you write a story yourself?" He shakes his head. "I'm not good at that." "Then recommend me any of the good comics you've drawn." "Uhm..there's one romance comic called Fireflies. But it's a bit long and the plot is more like that of a manga's."

And that was okay. Today I was helping Micah, a thirteen-year-old with a shaved head, hoodie sleeves always tugged down over their palms, and the eyes of someone who’d seen more than they should’ve. They weren’t chatty, but they liked drawing. Their sketchbook was filled with figures that resembled comic book heroes, quiet and fierce, with eyes always cast in shadow. They were hunched over a new page now, sketching a person standing in the center of swirling chaos. The figure held a long sword in both hands, the blade resting downward, tip touching the ground. Not raised. Not slashing. Just… there.
