I could see the factions positioning themselves on either side like pieces on a board, and the board was tilting. I tried to stay upright but I couldn't. The rift was getting closer, and no matter how hard I tried to escape it, my feet were glued to the ground. The rift eventually reached me, and I fell. I was falling for a long time, and I could hear myself hitting things on the way down. I could hear my name in arguments I wasn't present for, my title stripped and reinstated and stripped again.
