Just as Karina turned to head back inside, the car door suddenly swung open. Wendy bolted out, ran straight to Karina, and wrapped her arms tightly around her. Caught off guard, Karina froze. I lowered the candle to the vines, hoping to burn them off. A loud, ear-splitting scream rang through the altar and echoed through the halls. Wendy screamed, and right under my eyes, those vines constricted tightly around her body. "Let her go!" I screamed. I grabbed at the vines. They wouldn't budge at all. The thorns dug into my palms, but I barely felt the pain. Wendy was feeling whatever I was feeling a millionfold. The candle holder fell to the ground and rolled off somewhere. "Wendy!" I called her name, but my voice didn't reach her.

It had been a long day at work, and she had tried her best to focus on her work and ignore whatever comments might be going around about her and Damon. Wendy wanted to clench tightly, but she really had no strength left. She wanted to close her fingers but finally spread them out again and fell powerlessly on the hospital bed. The jade pendant fell again. "Gale, my daughter..." She looked at the ceiling, and her eyes were a little distracted. Seeing that something was wrong, Shawn immediately rang the call bell. However, it was too late to dodge then. He moved his extended leg slightly, and her kick landed on his abdomen. He was unwilling to admit defeat. As he fell backward midair, his fingers formed claws as he grabbed her by her shoulders. "Wendy!" In pain, she called out to Wendy. Wendy understood immediately. Striding forward, she pounced on Solomon, who had crashed to the floor. "Mountain Slam!" Then, she landed on her bum on him.

Her modest neckline had slipped, revealing more than intended. Nevertheless, Felix had spent the past three years with his six beautiful fellow apprentices and was entirely immune to such distractions. "What do you want?" he asked. Wendy answered in a hurry, "Thank you for saving my grandfather. I sincerely apologize for everything that happened this morning." Felix frowned. "You've already apologized. Now, can you let him drive me back to the city?" Wendy was genuinely puzzled. She was a successful CEO well-known for her beauty and had plenty of admirers. Yet, Felix, brimming with youthful vigor, seemed completely unaffected by her charms.

"OH MY GOD! WENDY!" I scream while kneeling on the floor besides her, careful not to cut myself on shards of glass from the flower vessel. Matt usually places two glass flower vase on either side of the stairway, and Wendy knocked one down, breaking it into pieces.
