On reaching there Michael parked the car in front of his company and they both went in. He spent over two hours supervising the event planners, on the choice of food, the lighting, interior, exterior and flower choice. When he was done supervising, he and Carol got back into the car heading to the hotel. “You seem stressed, is there something bothering you?” Carol asked, breaking the silence. “I haven't had the privilege to sleep all day, what else could be bothering me if not that?” Michael questioned, sarcastically. “Oh that's true, you should come over here and let me drive. You shouldn't be behind a steering wheel if you are feeling drowsy.” Carol suggested.

The slimmer man retorted and looked annoyed at Richmond for making his big boyfriend a little nervous. "Then what about the car you stole?" “We never stole a car. The van belonged to my late father which was passed down to me.” "Vans?" asked Richmond, starting to get frustrated. "Your car isn't a Corvette?" “Do you think we are that rich to buy a Corvette? If we were rich, we wouldn't be living in this dilapidated apartment." Michael looked at Richmond meaningfully, and immediately whispered next to his colleague who was about to explode in annoyance. "I don't think they're lying. The fat guy's face looks like he's on the verge of tears."

“Come on, Carina.” Cara nodded and followed after him. Mr Michael Knowles saw them out of his office, keeping a distance between himself and Romeo. He walked with his hands in his front like a loyal servant that had just received an earful for breaking something. Then he said, “His name is Daniel Carter. He used to work for Damien.” That made my stomach drop. “Used to?” I repeated. Michael nodded. “He was Damien’s accountant—handled all the money, all the offshore accounts, all the dirty transactions. But then something changed.” I frowned. “What?” Michael leaned back against the bar, his fingers running through his hair. “Carter found something. Something Damien didn’t want him to know.”

“Tell me, what did you find?” “You remember how, before all of this, Oliver mentioned something about a secret contact?” I nodded, eager for him to tell me more. “That secret contact managed to trace the car back to an old junkyard miles away. The place is still run by one of the original managers who just so happened to be there the day Michael and Caroline brought the car there.” My brows lifted in surprise. “Michael and Caroline?” I found it incredibly astounding that someone like Caroline would allow herself to get that close to such dirty work. I must have openly worn a look of doubt on my face because Alexander was quick to explain.
