Greed Island Cards Novels & Stories

“it’s yours now, we keep playing at the end of the game whoever has the more cards wins” “Oh! So, it’s like my stash?” “Yeah” she grins at me as I finally get it. “Okay let’s continue, do I go first?” She nods and I flipped open a card, Maria Louisa does the same reveling a different card, I upturn another card, reveling a queen of hearts and Mari-Lu goes next reveling a two of diamonds next, after about six different card open, I felt like the next card to be reviled is likely to fall under one of the already open cards and when Maria Louisa upturns another card to revile a king of hearts I pout. While Mari-Lu grins widely doing a happy dance while she picks up her winnings.

Aris called. So, everyone was in this except her. ‘The odd one out already,’ she thought to herself. ‘Boo hoo,’ a voice in the back of her head responded sarcastically. Sanne placed the flop cards on the table. A diamond ace, a five of clubs, and a two of spades. “I could handle the cards since I’m just a seat warmer this round,” Adrea offered. “Sure,” Sanne said and handed the cards over to Adrea.

The moment she saw the phone in his hand and the look on his face, all the color drained from hers. "Keith… You… Let me explain…" He was not listening. All he knew was that he had been played. He grabbed her by the throat and slammed her against the wall, his eyes bloodshot. "Whose child is it?" he demanded, each word squeezed out through clenched teeth. Caroline was terrified out of her mind. She struggled desperately, but under the fear of suffocation, she finally broke. "I-it's Mr. Walker's. I-I thought you couldn't have children… I just wanted someone to rely on…"

"Yes, 100,000 dollars. But since they're free, you can only play with them and not cash them out. You have to achieve a certain rank to be able to exchange them for real cash. You know me. I don't like to play poker or gamble. I was going to throw the cards away, but it slipped my mind." Hearing that I planned to dispose of the cards, Liam immediately tightened his grip on them. He was all smiles when he said, "Zack, it's inevitable that we'd get into arguments when a family is living together. In fact, it's quite normal. As your elder, I won't hold a grudge against you for what you did. "I'll just keep these cards as compensation for your actions!" He quickly pocketed the cards, acting as i

I trailed off, briefly wondering if the check would still be safe if I’d left it in my bra instead of moving it to my purse when I boarded the final flight that was bound for New York City. “I’m intimately involved with “The Island,” Anya. I’m one of the main investors, and you wouldn’t believe what a chuckle I got seeing your name on the roster of competitors for the weekend.” His beady eyes focused on me, and he licked his lips in a hungry fashion. “I quite enjoyed your show, though was aggravated to have a lot of the footage missing when the producer forwarded it to me yesterday. I didn’t get to see your deflowering, for example. Tell me what the hunter did to you, and in great detail.” I

Everyone kept their bets pretty minimal. Discard one, flip the turn card. Three of diamonds. Thane raised one hundred. Everyone called. I discarded and flipped the river. Ace of clubs. Shit. I had nothing but a pair of threes. Tove and Sweetcheeks folded. I called. Thane won with a pair of Jacks. Asshole. "Shirt, please," Sweetcheeks called, her smile big and bright enough to light up the city. She clapped her hands together. "I like this game much better."

Nate asked. “It’s called Egyptian Rat Screw, and the point is to get all the cards,” I answered while laying my card down. The game is simple. A deck of face cards gets distributed evenly among the players. Nobody looks at their cards. Each player places a card in the middle face up in turn. If a Jack is played, the next player has one chance to play a face card or an Ace otherwise the player who laid down the Jack gets the pile. A Queen gives you two chances to get a face card, King three chances, and an Ace four chances. Also, if you slap doubles, you get the pile. “Poker is a lot more fun,” he grumbled.

Most settlements were destroyed this way as my grandmother told me, leaving only three large cities in the entire world, the Hawks which is around Asia, Haven Point in Africa and A****n in America; which is where I and Elsa stay. The rest of the world is dead, more like a forgotten desert with little or no presence of plant life or water. In A****n, we are all expected to belong to a particular group from age eighteen. Elsa and I turned eighteen a few weeks ago and we have to take the final test that will earn us spots in the Foraging group among the Farmers. We have been attending lessons all our lives and today we will no longer be students but working adults. We walk confidently to the Tr

Maybe next time, I might plan a trip to a deserted island, where we won't even need to bring clothes. After a simple dinner, we took a stroll along the seaside before returning to the car for a little game—a game of comparing poker hands, with the higher card winning and the lower card losing, and the winner having the privilege to draw on the loser's face or body. At first, I was consistently losing, and my face ended up adorned with drawings of a small flower and a wolf, much to his delight. Little did he know, I was intentionally letting him win because those weren't ordinary cards; they were magic cards, allowing me to see through the back of each card and know its value.
