Greek Myth Kraken Novels & Stories

“ Of course, the kraken is real. What are you talking about?” He raises his hand in mock surrender “ Well, I didn’t know that. But, since you’re telling me about it now, I’m all ears.” “ The kraken releases poisonous gas like most carnivorous trees, to kill insects that attack it. This gas, cyanide is released when the insects are about to feed. But, strangely, the kraken does not harm ants. It lets it feed on it and in return, the ants fight other insects that try to attack the tree. Isn’t that fascinating?”

That was Frank the monster’s thing. “We don’t even need to watch videos, Ian already showed me how to do it. You just press down on this trigger thingy, point at the area you want to paint and voila! It’s done.” She patiently explained how the whole contraption worked, up until the point of how to get paint into the eqiupment, but I didn’t hear a single word. I nodded in all the right places, at least I thought it was in the right places, but my mind was brimming over with questions. What was Kyros? It had introduced itself as a god. The fire god to be specific. Admittedly, my greek mythology was terrible, seeing as all I knew about it was from the few comics I read and the Thor movie I watc

Not only that, but I bet he was also thinking about the legendary Kraken and his 3 baby Megalodons. “Lord Byron,” These days it is rare for Skyr to use Byron’s title anymore since we have escaped Atlantis. That was how we knew that he was back to his General mode again. “If you both go on with this plan, you do know that Ylgarr will be ready for you.”

A massive, white eye opened beneath the waves. "Row!" Aradaa screamed. "I'm rowing!" The boat tipped. A tentacle, thick as a tree trunk and covered in black suckers, rose out of the sea. "The Kraken," Kaelor whispered. "She said she couldn't cross!" "She’s not crossing. She’s calling." The tentacle slammed down. The skiff shattered. Aradaa went under. He felt Kaelor’s hand slip away. Darkness. He felt a sharp pain in his stomach.

She tells me. “What do you mean?” I asked her. “Well, a three-headed snake is called a Hydra, but a Chimera is a fire-breathing creature with the head of a lion, the body of a goat and the tail of a snake. But I can see how you mixed up the two of them; they're both part of Greek mythology. But why did you ask about the Hydra? Don't tell me you saw one?” She asked me. “Not really.” I say, and then I wait until we are in the library before I explain I don't want to risk anyone hearing us.

I have yet to avenge the brutal death of Banyan and his mate. “Go now. See the truth with your own eyes.” The squid started swimming away when I realize I still have one question left. “Who are you?” “I am the Kraken!” And he disappeared into the darkness. Whatever that means, what matter was that I was going back up with my mate, Allyssa Lausanne, the one truly destined for me. I looked at her and she glared back, resentment visible in those beautiful twinkling eyes. She turned away, swim upwards without a second glance back to the bewildered Takif.

I looked upwards, eyes searching the skies. Somewhere up there, giant fish swam through the clouds. If I could tempt them down, maybe they would fight my enemies. Who was I kidding? The first thing they’d do was eat me. The Kraken were a better bet with regards to being helpful (especially if we introduced them to Motown classics) but they had the slight disadvantage of not being able to walk on land. Or maybe they could, very slowly. Either way, as Socrates once said, you don’t bring a lobster to a shark fight. I think it was him. Might have been Plato.

I heard screams and shuffling of feet the whole time before it was gone. The man with the yellow cat eyes appeared beside me. "Why are you all surprised about that one?" He asked in a serious tone. "Earth dwellers have written stories about it. The Kraken. It used to swim on the ocean surface before they hunted it down and forced it to live here. Just like us." "I thought the Kraken was a giant octopus?" I said. "No one lived to tell the tale from the ones who saw the actual body. I guess they just assumed that it is a giant octopus."

Nike revealed how they were dragged ahead of them. “It was like we fall into its trap. As soon as we jumped into the water, he took us immediately. He was just waiting for the right moment to snatch us all from our sunken ship. Leviathan was the name given to all kinds of terrors of the deep. In a sense, it was more like the generalization of all the sea monsters you could ever think of. But given that they saw their monster taking the form of tentacle-laced specie that looked like it was a crossover between and giant squid and octopus, it was much safer to surmise that they were dealing with a Kraken.
