One could easily tell that she was excited. Greybridge had narrow cobblestone streets curved through rows of brick and timber buildings, their facades worn by time but still full of character. The mountains loomed in the distance, their white peaks glittering beneath the afternoon sun. People were walking and riding bicycles more than cars. They stopped in front of a tall, weathered building with ivy crawling up its stone sides. Faded green shutters framed the windows. At the very top—a small attic window with a crooked ledge.

Lyra's pov The car finally stops after what feels like hours of driving through increasingly dense forest, and when the gates swing open to let us through, all I can do is stare with my mouth hanging open like some country fool who's never seen anything grander than a wooden shack. The Greystone pack house is massive. Not just big—massive, easily five times the size of the Silverpine pack house I grew up in, all dark stone and towering windows that catch the afternoon light and throw it back like thousands of watchful eyes.

Driving through the streets of San Marlow is somewhat relaxing especially when driving through the old town district, cobblestone streets, old houses and where I live. Twenty minutes later, I arrived at Ridgeview medical center. It was between the Old town district and Riverside district. The Riverside district is like a small city in San Marlow, Penthouses, clubs, luxurious hotels, casinos, you will find it there in Riverside whatever is in the city. I parked the truck, grabbed the basket of food that Polly gave to me on my way out.
