Karter hums, handing me a marshmallow that he’s already put on a stick for me to roast. “Thank you!” I exclaim, excited to start. Smores are delicious. The warm and gooey marshmallow, the sweet melty chocolate, and the crunchy graham cracker make the perfect treat. Lynn and Joe are sitting next to each other again and instead of Joe’s usual adverted gaze, I feel it burning into my skin. Unless I’m just on fire. I subtly check to amuse myself. Nope, not on fire. A few smores in, Jericho, Thiago, and Kehlani join us. Kehlani’s eyes are a little glassy and her curly hair is a little frizzy. Did they get into a fight? Her cheeks even look a little flushed.

A soft smile was on his face that quickly disappeared. It was different from the evil smirks or mischievous grins he had most of the time. It was a genuine smile that made his eyes sparkle. I was starting to see what those girls saw in him. "You know shooting stars are meteors, right?" There was a bit of smugness in his voice. I took the last bit of my shawarma, chewing it lightly. "Science ruins everything fun." I sneered. Mikhail pulled out the cigarette, holding it between his fingers. The scent of burnt tobacco and several chemicals, which were unhealthy, lingered. The edges crack lightly as it burns.

I swallowed before I spoke in one breathe, “FIRE CRACKER” The end.

Mark pointed out to my roasting marshmallow pin with a stick over the fire burnt to a crisp. I pulled my marshmallow out of the fire and blew on it. "Looks okay," I chuckled and placed it on top of the Hershey chocolate, pressing the graham cracker down and squishing the chocolate and marshmallow together. I took a bite, and I moaned. "Damn, that's good." "You sure are a chipmunk, got the right nickname for you."

I ask, my heart in my throat. "Yes, it's freaking awesome," Trent answers with gusto. "We've been crafting a matchstick rocket, making it only out of tin foil, a safety pin, and a paper clip. Simple but effective. Add some soda rocks and we got ourselves a proper take off." Trent high fives Gavin who chuckles along with him. "You're not worried or scared?" I ask again biting my lip the second the words are out of my mouth. "I mean considering..." My voice trails off along with my eyes to look over at Nate. He hasn't touched his lunch which is sitting next to him on the grass.

He couldn’t even conclude whether it was the main meal or just a dessert. Grace unconsciously smiled while watching Adro. Even though that man's face looked stern, his expression changed like a child's when he discovered something new and unique to him. "You can eat them using chopsticks." Grace took out the chopsticks from the plastic wrapper and used them to take a piece of sushi. Adro stared at the object between Grace's slender fingers in confusion. Then he took the chopsticks from Grace's hand. Unfortunately, his fingers weren't used to it, so the chopsticks and food fell back onto the plastic plate.

I removed it from his mouth and firmly held it 'til he gave me an answer I'll be satisfied with. “Why here?” He took a deep breath and looked up at the ceiling as if the answers were there. And after what seemed like an eternity, he finally looked at me with a smile on his face and eyes emitting with something that made me feel safe even if I am with a stranger. “I guess I want too much.” He was definitely a riddle. I shook my head with an amused smile on my lips. I finally gave him his cigarette and I lit it with his lighter. “What does that make you feel?” I asked, pertaining to his cigarette.

He rested his back comfortably against the chair, crossed his legs with an air of sophistication, and gently flipped his long hair to the back in his usual style. He reached for his pocket, brought out a large wrap of weed stick, and a lighter. Igniting the weed, he started to smoke, puffing the smoke directly into my face; I nearly choked. He seemed to unlock new characteristics every moment. I remember Liam doesn't drink; how could he be the one puffing this robust wrap of weed?
