"It would be strange if I used a restaurant by myself," I said again with an awkward smile. "Understood, ma'am," Jonah said then. Reserve a restaurant just for me to have dinner alone? I think my husband really had some crazy ideas.

“I will make sure to maim your face.” I was able to maneuver clumsily out of her grasp and threw a kick that pushed her off. She came at me again, this time I was pissed off. I scratched hard across her chest and screamed. “You wanted to maim me, right? Go ahead, two can play.” This time I made sure to keep an eye on my back. Then I felt a back against mine, the scent made me aware that it was Martha. “I have missed you, my friend.” She said sweetly.

"Remember your promise." She started to stand up, and Grace shouted in horror, "No! You can't—" "Enough, Grace. I've made my decision. Don't you interfere," Martha said. She stood up and walked toward Henry. Grace's face turned a dark shade of anger. She could not stop Martha and could only watch in frustration. Martha's heart raced. She had rarely been around men, even after leaving the clan. She could never imagine that she was about to kiss a man in front of everyone.

Martha's face twisted with anger. "You asked me what you said, didn't you?" Summer slowly took out her phone and tapped on the screen. A familiar voice was heard in the restroom. Summer had recorded everything Martha had said to slander Kristen earlier. When Martha heard that, the blood completely drained from her face. She only dared to badmouth Kristen behind her back while always acting incredibly respectfully in front of Kristen. "Hand that phone over!" Martha tried to snatch it. Summer sidestepped her effortlessly. But Martha had been in too much of a panic. She ended up losing her balance on her heels as she fell to her knees and crashed face-first into the door.

Martha said when she saw Grace. Grace sat at the small table which they use for kitchen work. Martha was cutting vegitables there. Martha have her soup to eat but Grace was looking at it blankly. "Grace what happened child? You look worried..." Matha sat beside her. "I don't want this Martha, I am scared." Grace mumbled.

Maybe a drink would help me calm my nerves, but then I realise that I need a clear mind for what is to happen. “No, thank you,” I reply, my voice barely above a whisper. The woman simply nods at me before turning to walk away. As she leaves, I sit quietly, waiting patiently as I listen to the fire crackle softly, filling the silence. I remain perfectly still, afraid that if I move too much, I will betray how unprepared I feel. This is a mansion. I am here to meet the man I agreed to marry... a complete stranger. A massive patch of skin had been scraped clean off her shin, and blood was pooling down her ankle. The knees of her pants were completely shredded. She was an absolute wreck. "Oh dear, when did that trail get so full of loose rocks?" Martha cried, wincing in agony. "It never used to be this bad!"

“Tell me your questions.” My tongue felt heavy. I did not want to start an argument that might make him angry with me. But the whispering in the kitchen had hurt something inside me. I needed to hear his voice speak clear facts. “This morning I overheard two maids,” I began slowly while choosing each word carefully. “They were whispering that someone screamed last night and that the Alpha ordered no food until tomorrow. They said ‘he is family.’ Who did they mean? Who screamed? Who did the Alpha order to be starved?”
