Guts Screaming Griffith Novels & Stories

Police cars screeched to a halt nearby, followed by Nicholas's parents and Griffin's mother, Sophia. Sophia's eyes locked onto Griffin's face, her expression a mix of horror and desperation. "Griffin, stop this madness!" she screamed, her voice piercing the air. "There's no use in revenge. It won't bring your father back. Leave Sarah and Nicholas alone. You can't force someone to love you." Griffin's eyes flickered toward his mother, his face twisted in a snarl. "You don't understand, Mother," he spat, his voice venomous. "You never understood."

But now, my throat felt like it was closing around a hard lump, and shame threatened to bring me to tears. Before I even stepped inside the castle, I heard Griffith's furious voice echoing from within. "You useless fools! She disappeared right under your noses, and none of you noticed? If anything happens to Ellia, I swear, I'll have every last one of you buried!" Griffith was usually refined and composed. It was rare to see him lose his temper. The last time he had been this angry was when I burned my arm during the ritual sacrifice. He had nearly canceled Avalora Pack's most sacred annual festival because of it.

I forced a smile at him and said, "It's alright, Cedric. I've always been resilient. These injuries are nothing." Cedric remained silent for a long time. Then, he sighed heavily and said, "You might not think much about your physical injuries, but you're the only one who knows about your emotional injuries and the pain in your heart. "The good thing is that it's all over now." He proudly waved his phone at me. "What you did was absolutely brilliant. Now, Johann and Eva have been doxxed, and some of the extremists have already threatened to send them death threats in the form of dead mice and bloody razors."

I was so hungry I saw stars. Everything had double vision. The book of 20-dollar scratch cards Mom gave me felt like a countdown to my death. Only one card remained. The 30 dollars I had won before this, even though I had been incredibly frugal, eating nothing but plain bread and canned soup for every meal, had lasted two weeks at most. My stomach felt like an invisible hand was squeezing it tight, cramping with pain. So I clung to one last shred of hope and called Mom.

Who would have done this to him? “This is what happens when we go soft,” Griff said, voice sharp as broken glass. “they left him like trash.” A growl rippled through the room. Fists slammed tables and curses filled the air. Griff slammed his palm on the table. “We’re striking back tonight. No mercy.” Murmurs rose. Some nodded, eyes blazing for vengeance while others shifted uncomfortably, glancing at one another like they weren’t sure this was the way. I stayed silent. My chest felt heavy, like every heartbeat was dragging me closer to a choice I didn’t want to make.

But even so, her hands shook so badly. Tommaso clamped a firm hand down on Sofia’s shoulder. “I’ve overseen dozens of them for the family. There’s nothing to...” Just then, two nurses rolled a supply cart past, their hushed whispers carrying clearly through the closed door. “…came today covered in lash marks, toxic shock… they said he only had one kidney…” “…who the hell forces a liver transplant on a man with only one kidney? He was poisoned, whipped half to death, and they still made us go through with it…”

Lira’s POV The victory celebration was short-lived. The cheers of the Silver-Grip pack had barely faded into the night when the first scream tore through the lower barracks. It wasn't a scream of pain, but a wet, rattling sound—the sound of a soul being drowned in shadows.

But behind me, a strong grip held my wrist. “I COULD NOT UNDERSTAND IT!” Griffin’s voice echoed through the dimly lit room, his words piercing through the silence like a knife. I turned to face him. His eyes were ablaze with a fiery intensity as if he was trying to convey the depth of his emotions through them. Only now, I noticed that her eyes were red and puffy as if he had been crying for hours. It was clear that he was struggling to contain his emotions, but his anger was palpable.

Fuck! I was going to turn around when I noticed the two rogues had already cornered me. My heart was pounding so loudly against my chest. Damn it! Is this really the end? No... please... I still want to see Alpha Greyson. When they approached me slowly, I took a step back. The steep cliff behind me was accompanied by a river. I could clearly hear the sound of flowing water. They howled in unison as they realized there was no way out for me. My teeth were clenched. I intend to fight. Whatever occurs, even if it seems hopeless. I'm going to fight them!

"Love? Dude, take a good look at yourself in the mirror. If it weren't for your money, who would want to put on an act with some sleazy, overconfident guy like you? You really think you're some big shot CEO? Now that you're broke, of course I'm dumping your pathetic behind." With that, Sandy turned and walked away. As she passed by me, she stopped and immediately plastered a fawning smile. "Ms. Greer, to be honest, I was deceived by him, too. If I had known what a scumbag he was, I never would have had anything to do with him. Besides, I'm sure you're far too magnanimous to hold this against someone as insignificant as me." Watching her grovel like that, I felt nothing but disgust.
