A week has passed, and we’ve finally made it to LA. Surprisingly we all have a smile on our faces, like this is a new chapter in our lives. Jack is more thrilled than anyone, he’s in love with the palm trees, he couldn’t stop taking pictures, as we drive down Sunset Blvd. We’re now in the car driving to our Airbnb that Maleficent has booked for us. She told Hannah it’s a gigantic mansion. “See I knew this was going to be good for us.” I say.

" He tapped on his laptop. Lily jumped to a start. She caught Daniel's face brightened with a smirk. Concentrate! As she watched closely, she realized it was a page from a document. But nothing made sense until she saw the name. Alison Ford. "What is this?" Daniel chuckled. "Of course this can be our VIP ticket to jail. But we can use it to clear our names from the investigators. Brad's ex wife might just be the way out for us, sugar." Lily was still confused. "What? I mean...how?"

“My sister-in-law and the relic Odin himself gave her to protect. My brother has been searching for her and I haven’t heard from him in months, I have been working with Valhalla Bridge to find my sister-in-law and my brother and hopefully the relic she protects.” No wonder the order was so set on recovering the stolen property. He moved closer to me, placing his hands on my shoulders, “I know this is a lot to take in, I can let you digest it, and we can talk about it later, ok?” I frowned, “what’s there to think about, we have to find her and the relic. "What kind of nonsense is this? Since when did I need your permission for my decisions? Jayden, you've grown more and more out of line." A wave of satisfaction surged through me. I stepped forward slightly and spoke in a clear, composed voice, "Your fiancée is that 'Ms. Sheridan' over there. As for me—I'm not her." I turned my gaze toward Jayden and met his stunned eyes without flinching. "And from today onward, you'd better change how you address me. Because I'm now officially Mrs. Ford—your stepmother." "You-" His eyes widened with pure shock. Then I looked toward Lunara, who stood nearby like a ghost, her face ashen.

“I’m so sorry about what happened. Dawn just told me now. What exactly happened?” I leaned against the wall, listening closely. “Yes, Mrs. Langford,” Hannah said, lowering her gaze respectfully. “I went grocery shopping early this morning, then I got a call from Mr. Hart saying his father had collapsed in the garden. I met him by the estate gate and transferred the things I bought into his car. When we got home, he told me to stay back. So I really don’t know much beyond that.” Her words were simple and honest, the way they happened for her.

A frustrated sigh left me as I turned my attention to Ford, who was still listening to Cassandra speaking at the front of the stage, thanking the guests for attending. If I wanted answers, I needed information. And Ford, for all his unnecessary enthusiasm, had plenty of it. “So, this Hailey you keep talking about…” I began casually. Ford immediately perked up, as expected. “What about her?” he asked. I shrugged, pretending disinterest. “Where exactly did you meet her?” “At one of the social gatherings,” he replied. “Another one a few weeks back.” Daniel nodded, recalling it. “That one with the council affiliates.”

Yet the Suttons persisted. The truth was simple: none of us had any desire to inherit the empire. Rowan’s passion was law. Mine was medicine. Kai lived for the stage and the roar of his fans. But now… with the possibility of a missing sister, everything had changed. If she were found, she might be the one to inherit. She might be the Harrison Heiress. I escorted Rowan and Kai to the airport, then drove straight to the Sutton estate. Malum met me at the door with his polished charm and led me into his study. Before I could sit, he barked an order across the hall.
