That was exactly what he wanted to ask for as well. Slowly, he helped her to get up. Ian couldn't help bottling up the happiness that had set in his heart. He was going to be a dad, a dad for the second time with the woman he loved. “I'm the happiest man in the world!” Ian cried out to the entire city which was seen from there. “I'm going to be a dad!” Excitedly, he ran to her and lifted her up just to spin with Alice between his arms. “Ian, stop it, Ian!” she laughed, clinging to his clothes.

This whole making-her-life-miserable scheme is one of the best, and I can see that it is really getting to her, which I love. I get to work and can't help but smile. This time, it isn't fake, and it isn't because of Ruby. It's because wherever Ruby isn't present, I get to smile all through the day, and my mind becomes clear. I'm guessing my employees are happy to see me in this light because happy Archer equals a happy and less stressful day at work. I get to my office, and Max comes cheerfully. That dude is always cheerful, and even though I love to see it, it's an annoying sight.

He’s kissing my face, shoulders, being playful. It’s sweet as hell but it’s so funny. You wouldn’t think a guy with this persona: bad boy millionaire (Tony Stark, anyone?) would be so playful. Then again, I wouldn't have expected a man of his stature to go crazy over bumper cars. He’s so damn competitive. He’d raced after me, his large frame nearly spilling out of the car. His smile was almost gleeful, almost as if he was allowing his inner child to peek out through his fierce exterior.

Marcus I was so goddamn happy it probably looked suspicious. Not normal happy either. Not “good day at the garage” happy or “made a lot of money on a run” happy. This was dangerous happiness. The kind a man wasn’t supposed to feel after spending years convincing himself he couldn’t have something. Or someone. Plural, apparently. I came downstairs grinning like an idiot and immediately realized I probably should’ve worked harder to hide it.

To be true, now that I know what it was all about, I’m glad.
