Damien’s jaw was tight, eyes locked onto her with an unreadable expression. “What… was that?” she whispered, her voice barely audible. No one answered. Because they didn’t know. But the Harbinger did. And for the first time, Eve saw something in its crimson gaze that sent a chill down her spine. Not rage. Not hunger. Something worse. Recognition.
