When the man began talking, it felt like he was covering her body in warm honey. "I must apologize to you. I'm Alpha Gunnar of The Shadow Howlers. My head warrior showed me evidence that you had been kidnapping humans. When I looked closer at the evidence, I couldn't determine if what he said was true, so I wanted to do more investigating. Omar?" Alpha Gunnar looked at the warriors, and the large one in front stepped forward, his neck bare in submission. "Yes, alpha." He answered in more of a growl. "Why have you set out to destroy this pack?" Gunnar asked. However, it wasn't Omar who answered.

Fortunately, someone shoves me out of their way, breaking me from the spell. I glance sideways to see that it's Landon Kitler – just another person I haven't seen in a while. Clearly, life hasn't been too good to him either. He's mumbling curses beneath his breath, as usual, as he slams open the door of the bar with an aggression that is petrifying. He fails to notice me, as well as the other eyes he's attracted, fearfully watching him. He somehow misses all the people jumping out of the way for him. It's like he's unaware of the power he holds. Elara and the witch coven stood nearby, their faces etched with determination and fear. "Emily!" Nathanial ran to me, relief and concern mingling in his eyes. "Did you find it?" I held up the relic, its glow pulsating with barely-contained energy. "Yes, but we have a bigger problem. The Harbinger has been awakened. It's coming for us." Gasps and murmurs spread through the gathered crowd. Elijah stepped forward, his voice firm. "We need to fortify our defenses and protect our key figures. The Harbinger will target our leaders to sow chaos."

Damien’s jaw was tight, eyes locked onto her with an unreadable expression. “What… was that?” she whispered, her voice barely audible. No one answered. Because they didn’t know. But the Harbinger did. And for the first time, Eve saw something in its crimson gaze that sent a chill down her spine. Not rage. Not hunger. Something worse. Recognition. And then, just as suddenly as it had appeared, the Harbinger let out a bone-chilling howl before vanishing into the darkness, leaving only the echoes of its promise behind.

She is not afraid of what will happen to her, a true hunter indeed. However, her face seems so familiar. Like I have seen it before, way before, she looks and acts like a hunter. I exited the dungeon as quietly as possible. A gathering with Alarick and some subordinates must come first. When I walked seven more steps, a screen popped up in front of me. “You have entered the arena with the Giant Goblin Boss. You have ten seconds to prepare.” An automated voice spoke, as a countdown started. Since we had already prepared the moment we reached the gate, all I had to do was equip my weapons. I chose the dagger that was given to me as a wedding gift. I read the inscription on the blade one more time.

Ezra had also received his opponent's wild declaration of war. He closed his eyes slightly, speculating on his opponent's exact direction. Windy and Nolan also heard howls filled with declarations of war. The instincts of a Wolf warrior didn't let them have the slightest thought of backing down. "They mentioned the ceremony for calling forth the Shadow King, their voice dripping with evil intent." "Upon his invocation, darkness will engulf your world."

Shadows twisted at his feet, and the air crackled about him. With a gasp, Eloise collapsed to her knees. "My Lord!" she bowed her head in awe. With my heart racing, I looked. "Who... who are you?" The figure laughed. A frigid, deep sound. He declared, "I am the Harbinger," and moved forward. "The voice of the true master of this world." I was shoved behind Damon. "We don’t belong here." The Harbinger's head cocked. "Ah, but that is where you are wrong." With golden flames dancing between his fingers, he raised a hand. You are a part of the cycle. And you've ended up back where you never should have been."
