In the Bedroom Cynthia knelt down and carefully helped Harley into a fresh change of clothes. She gently pressed a bandage onto the scrape on his little hand. "Tell Mommy," she said softly, though her voice was tight with tension, "how did Vicky fall into the lake?" Harley lowered his head, twisting his fingers nervously. "It was my fault... I wanted to climb the railing to see the lake. Vicky lifted me up... then the wood suddenly broke..." His voice trailed off, barely audible. "She fell in..."

Sarah returned my gaze sharply. "The stems are not poisonous, just the petals and powder. You have a debt to me, so you have to pay it or do you want to die at my hands?!" I took a step forward looking at Sarah like she was her prisoner. Sarah, who was afraid of my threat, finally had the courage to take the blue poison ivy. One of the bikers lifted his gaze, eyes narrowing as I approached. “Well, well... look what the wind dragged in,” he said, smirking. “You lost, sweetheart?” “I’m looking for a place to rent,” I replied smoothly. “But maybe you can help me with something better.”

I retorted, matching my tone to hers. She huffed and crossed her arms over the too-white duvet, flexing her fists so the lettering across her knuckles stretched. Love and hate both got distorted. ‘Huh, sounds like your messed-up brain, buddy,’ said Knight. ‘Don’t act like yours is any better,’ I shot back. He held up his paws. ‘Can’t argue with that.’ “Some bastard poisoned me, all right?” said Harley, fixing her gaze on the linoleum floor. “I don’t know who it was or how they did it. Now Nova’s got the whole pack on lockdown while she tries to find the little bitch who did it.”

I glanced at my mate and nodded. “Yeah, we will be fine. Go on, I am right behind you,” I said. Logan nodded and giving me another stupid grin, he climbed into the car and drove off. “Alright, I need you to hold me very tightly, Ivyaka,” I said, pulling out the keys from my pockets. Ivy blinked, and then her eyes widened as she spotted the Harley. “Ohh,” she exclaimed. “Oh no…” Mac murmured, and I knew exactly what was coming next.

Harley looked exhausted and pale, but the steady rhythm of her breathing was promising. And that was all that mattered! I was trying to remember the medicines I took after my first shift when Lucian’s stunned cry resonated in the room. “What is that?” My gaze snapped toward him, and I saw him pointing toward Harley, his finger trembling. I followed his finger and froze for a moment. A glowing mark bloomed briefly on Harley’s forehead, a radiant red phoenix-shaped flower, pulsing with ancient power. It shimmered for a few seconds before fading completely, leaving her skin smooth and unmarked.

Harley quickly stood up from the floor, where she had fallen, she walks close to Harriet and gave her a side hug. she held her waist gently with her little hands, while Harriet struggled to free herself from her grip, she didn't give in to her demands, she hugged her tighter, and Harriet got irritated by this, she pushed her away with all the strength left in her and Harley ended up falling on the floor watching her elbow on a stone. she got injured and blood oozed out of it. Harley stood up again without caring about the blood oozing out of her injuries, she came close to Harriet again with concern evident on her innocent face.
