After dinner, us kids head up to bed for school tomorrow. The next day after school, Alice, Kim and I quickly do our homework and head to the hidden room, and start creating an inventory of everything in there. There’s books, Grimores, scrolls with spells and wards on them, tapestry, art work, rugs, herbs and things in jars. Mom calls them magical ingredients, and says to write on a separate piece of paper what they are according to the labels. Anything we don’t know of the herbs, she tells us to pick up with a towel, because it might be harmful to our wolves, or other shifter counterparts. I couldn't help the shiver that ran down my body. I didn't want to kill anything. "But some creatures are good, right?" I asked, nervous. "Every creature can be good or evil. Just like with humans, they have their freedom to choose." "Got it." But it was creepy. At least a dozen make-believe creatures were enclosed in glass, on pedestals, or standing around the room. Something called a locanis looked like a werewolf. There was also a little sprite, a massive troll, a black unicorn, and an enormous dragon.

But her excitement and conviction made me believe that it was real. "Wait, so there are actually people with magical powers?" I asked, trying to wrap my head around this new information. "Yes, and it's not just limited to humans. There are also fantastic creatures like dragons, unicorns, and even talking paintings," She replied, her eyes sparkling with wonder. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. It sounded like a world full of endless possibilities and adventure. "And the best part is, Harry Potter, the famous wizard, goes to Hogwarts too. He's the chosen one, destined to defeat the dark wizard, Lord Voldemort," Renee continued, her voice filled with excitement.

I walked along the rows of shelves, my fingers trailing lightly over the spines of the books as I searched for something new to read. After a few minutes of browsing, a book caught my eye…”The Encyclopedia of Supernatural Beings”. It was an old, thick tome with a worn cover, but it looked intriguing. I pulled the book from the Ilf and settled into one of the comfortable armchairs by the window. I flipped through the pages, my curiosity piqued as I read about all sorts of supernatural creatures…some I had heard of, and others I thought were nothing more than myths. There were detailed descriptions of vampires, witches, werewolves, fae, and other beings, but what truly caught my attention were

As soon as we walk into the restaurant, I hear Citra, Jaiden, and Hawk deep in conversation with Bella, who’s back at the medic site. “Why are all these creatures circling the warehouse? It doesn’t make sense. They’re all loners, more animal than human. Why are they trying to get in with the Riding Hoods?” Jaiden asks. “There’s got to be a connection between them,” Bella says. “What kind of creatures have you seen?” Hawk starts listing. “Pixies. A rougarou. Several Loa. Kelpies. A goblin.” He trails off, eyes going wide.

Xienma, Xavier, and Cassie stood in the center of this enchanted realm, their hearts pounding with a mix of excitement and trepidation. Xienma's eyes widened as she took in the sight of the creatures around them. Unicorns grazed peacefully on lush, vibrant grass, their manes shimmering with iridescent hues. Phoenixes soared through the sky, their feathers leaving trails of fire and light. Xienma felt a surge of awe and wonder, her connection to the ancient magic within her growing stronger with each passing moment.

“Well, I wouldn’t say that I don’t know anything, but I’m still learning.” He reached up and flicked his ear with a smile. “Goblins don’t have pointed ears, we’re also normal-sized, just like you. House elves don’t even exist, so I’m guessing you’re thinking about those little critters from the wizard movies, what are they called?” “Harry Potter, and they were books first. Really good books, by the way, if you’re a reader.” I could feel my face burning with embarrassment. “Muffler breath? Read? Ha! That’s a good one!” Jade said as she set a drink down in front of him.

“Let’s try this one. It looks like it might cover witches.” “Alright,” Anna said, and together they opened the book. Inside were entries on hundreds of mystical beings. Some were described in detail—werewolves, dragons, vampires, faes, mages—and others only briefly mentioned. Each creature had a page or two, detailing their origins, abilities, and myths surrounding them. Finally, they reached a section labeled Witches. Rhea’s hands trembled slightly as she turned the page. Her heart was beating fast, her breath caught in her throat. Part of her was terrified of what she might learn—but the other part was desperate to finally know the truth.

The kind of beasts humans thought were myths, but in reality, they were all hidden in plain sight. I kept turning the pages like a mad man but couldn't find the creature. Most books mentioned vampires and different breeds of werewolves. There were a few sections about mermaids and faeries. Not what I was looking for. I paused as I flipped through the last few pages. There was a picture. A giant beast with a human face and spiderlike features. Bingo... [That thing will have us for breakfast. You might as well change your name and move to Neverland.]

Elizabeth The red woman stretched our silence and she was deadly serious just by the sight of her lips that were grim. I chased my breath while pursing my lips hard and widened my eyes in annoyance. I was angry; while she was deadpan. “I am asking you a damn question,” I demanded with a firm and strict tone. “What the bloody hell is happening? Who were the creatures that lured me into the deepest part of the Dark Forest?” “The flyers,” she answered after a long minute. “They are the evil creatures who were also included in living with the witches, vampires, and werewolves, except werewolves, have gone through their way to still exist to this day.”
