The king observed them for a week to see if the effects of the potion would stop, or reduce with time, but it didn’t. Instead they became stronger with each passing day. So he picked fifteen of his elite soldiers to drink the potion too. He sent out announcements all over the land to invite people to watch. Day after day, the people marveled at the strength of his soldiers, until—“

Swiftly, Brockley dodged to the side and felt the wind vibrations from the sword. Hush! The tip of the sword was stuck on the dry red ground. Harlino then pulled the sword back out. Seeing Brockley walking backwards and away, he thought Brockley was getting scared. "Are your hands starting to tremble with fear? If you surrender now, no problem. Answered by the second soldier in an excited tone. "Woah, look at his armor... So cool!" Said by the other soldier. The person they called Pyro was wearing a red crystal-like armor with the carvings of dragon scales.

A pair of Oakwood warriors emerged from the shadows, their weapons glinting in the faint light. I stepped forward, my claws extending. “You’re in the wrong place tonight,” I said coldly. The fight was quick and brutal. I ducked under the first warrior’s swing, slashing upward with my claws. The second came at me with a blade, but I twisted out of his reach, delivering a powerful kick that sent him sprawling. “Perimeter secure,” Axel said, jogging over to my side. Before I could respond, the first explosion rocked the ground, flames erupting from the depot. Shouts and screams filled the air as Oakwood’s camp descended into chaos.

Back when Andrew was still in the Army, He was nicknamed the Devil's Son. Everyone reverenced how eager and Fearless he acted. He had volunteered to Join the infantry and join his colleagues in fighting the war despite the fact that he was just few weeks into his recruitment. He was barely a Soldier then. Multiple promotions in few years, each one of those duly earned. Little wonder General ISSA would do anything to prevent him quitting.

My pulse spiked. I turned. Nothing. Just empty streets. Dark buildings. Shadows. The soldier's face turned white. "No." His voice cracked. "No, that's impossible." Tears suddenly filled his eyes. The exact same thing that had happened on the fortress wall. The illusion. The manipulation. Someone dead. Someone he loved. Renn grabbed him immediately. "Don't look!" Too late. The soldier began walking forward. Slowly. Like a man entering a dream. "I missed you." The words barely escaped his lips.
