Lilith furrowed her brow deeply, then her eyes simply closed, and everything changed instantly. Lilith now stood in the midst of a cold, damp, and silent mist. She immediately recognized the place as a lake. A small lake on the edge of the forest, a spot she had often visited since childhood. Yet, the place looked very different now. The water was black, not merely dark because of the night, but truly black in color. The lake’s water was also still, as if its entire surface were made of shadow. Lilith swallowed slowly; she knew this was a dream, but for some reason she couldn’t wake up immediately, as if something were holding her there, keeping her in the dream and making her wait.

There was something in it that was breathing underneath the water and mud. Whatever it was, I never wanted to know. [Where do we start searching?] Alec asked. He was the biggest of the three. I felt his power thrumming all over him like an electric wave.

I look down at the spring below and realise it must be the lake up here that is corrupted. “Come on. We are going to walk along the bank.” I say to him as I grab his hand and we walk along the bank. Well, I do. Joel is further up. The heat is unbelievable. It rivals the volcano. I walk along, looking for anything that seems out of the ordinary. I stop and look up at the sky when something catches my eye. I point to it and Joel frowns at what it is we are seeing. In the centre of the lake, there is a darkness that swirls. The scent of dark magic is strong here.

“Well, even though that was something someone once said to me.” Then Daran stroked my head gently. "Do you love this place, Daran?" "That's right." Holding a black bone dagger in my right hand and an incense container in my left, I began stepping into the cold, dark lake in front of me. I strolled across the small wooden bridge to the land in the middle of the lake. The closer I got, the more confused my feelings became. If I couldn't eliminate the dark magic energy in this lake, would Daran be disappointed in me?
