SEVEN NIGHTS WITH MY STEPFATHER

SEVEN NIGHTS WITH MY STEPFATHER

But someone had left an avalanche of books on every table, and Jonas had finals coming up, so I volunteered. I pushed the metal cart between the rows, sliding volumes back into place with soft thumps. Literature, art history, photography theory. The irony wasn’t lost on me. I kept my earbuds in but no music playing—just the illusion of company. Row 770—oversized art books. I reached high to slot a heavy monograph on Mapplethorpe into its gap, standing on tiptoes, when warm breath brushed the shell of my ear. “I miss you, little girl.”

Hi Billie i wanted 2ask something about your stories. When i see that someone has a few stories i always check how many are Ongoing. You have 6 stories but 5 are still Ongoing. From those 5 there are 4 stories under 10 chapters AND last updates 4-6 months ago. That's not really trustworthy right?

Hi, I'm Billie! Thanks for reading. Flaws exist, but please be kind, writing is hard work. I’ve spent 6 years learning, so no harsh criticism, please. I welcome feedback, just respect my effort. Thank you, I love you all! ...

It isn't the same spiral he used to communicate with me in Alaska, but I know a Thatcher spiral when I see one. I sit down on the couch and wait as Thatcher begins to write in his new red book furiously. He must have a lot to say because it is taking him much longer than usual. Finally, after almost three minutes, Thatcher passes me the book, and I immediately read. "Amber, this is very serious. The world is about to get messy and dangerous. A war is about to erupt between Werewolves and Humans. To protect you from what is to come, your father and I have to make some big decisions. Our enemies are multiplying. You need to trust us and back off. We don't have time to entertain you or answer y

That was an amazing story. Very different from other Werewolf stories I've read, & has some very dark themes at times. But I couldn't stop reading. Thank you Sadie, was a really great story. Look forward to a sequel!!! ♡♡

Chosen Mates, Stolen Fates

Chosen Mates, Stolen Fates

“Please, call me Ben.” I ignored him, making my way to the science and philosophy section. Despite the dry air, my palms were sweaty with anticipation. Would I actually find the volumes here? It was a gamble, but one I was willing to take. Especially without Marge here. I held my breath, turning the corner and finding my way to the herbal and medical sections on the science shelves. Lifting a trembling finger, I began to scan the titles. They were old names I recalled from my schooling years, names that seemed to only live in history, their names printed only in our textbooks. But these were living, breathing names; their life’s works, however antiquated, preserved and respected. My breath c

A Bear's Mirrored Romance

A Bear's Mirrored Romance

Becky picked up the small bowl and examined it. “I think this was once a shell of some sort. Like a mussel or oyster shell, but look at the size of it. It must have been old when they harvested this.” Gemma set the twig on the desktop and then pulled the book out. For its size, the book was thick. A little larger than a man’s hand, and perhaps as thick as three of Gemma’s fingers. They did not make the book from paper, but the pages were much thicker. “Is this skin? I hope it's sheepskin and not human.” The cover was clearly leather, and the binding showed hand stitching. “This can’t be new. I’m afraid to open it. What if it’s not the grimoire?”

THE HUMAN LUNA

THE HUMAN LUNA

So I watched the people. One evening, I intentionally returned a book much later than necessary. The librarian smiled warmly as she accepted it. "You've been reading quite a lot, Luna." "I'm trying to understand the dynasty." She laughed softly. "Books help." "They do." I smiled back "But conversations help more." she said, again I tilted my head. "What kind of conversations?" "The ones people don't realize they're having." I smiled. "I'll remember that." She smiled back. We spoke for another fifteen minutes. About nothing important. Or so it appeared.

The Alpha's Abused Mate

The Alpha's Abused Mate

There was a deafening silence the moment I enter the library just as I expected, this is the place that I go with every time I have free time because not everyone goes here, students don't fancy coming into the library anymore and do their research here since google is already available in just a tap of a finger. I went to the far-end corner of the library where I hide an old and very outdated book entitled 'Werewolves Anatomy'. This book is the reason why I keep on coming back to this library, the librarian doesn't let me borrow this book, she said that if I want to read it then I need to read it inside the library since the book is expensive and a limited edition, that being said, I don't

The Alpha Heir's Fake Mate

The Alpha Heir's Fake Mate

“Harlan’s counterpart here is an ancient demon named Malakai. If you end up losing a finger during shadow practice, he can usually grow it back by dinner, provided you don’t complain about the taste of the tonic.” “I’ll try to keep all my digits attached, but it’s good to know there’s a backup plan for gross negligence,” I say, adjusting my backpack as we turn into a massive multi-tiered library. Thousands of leather-bound volumes line the shelves, glowing softly under the ambient light of floating amber crystals. “This is incredible,” Ivy whispers, her fingers lightly tracing the spine of a massive text on runic geography. “My old pack had a bookshelf in the basement. This looks like the ar

Accidental Bibliophiles

The ladies all giggle and Julie stands, handing a new bookmark to each of us. "Yes. We figured we'd get you ones that suited you a little better." she says. The new one is dark blue with gold lettering that says 'Real men read dirty books'. I smile and look over at Ev who's showing Harper his excitedly. "These are great. Thank you." I say just as Bri nudges me. "Oh! Tell them your joke, love!" Harper says excitedly. Ev rolls his eyes before addressing the group.

Iridian

She’d adore the wide array of books here, though I don’t think she’d like the constant threat of danger. The Librarian’s that roamed the restricted section were just another facet of dark magic. Their limbs were humanoid, but longer and skinnier than normal. Their heads held actual hair, but that only served to make them more horrifying. Greasy hair hanging low, past sunken faces with gaping, contorted mouths. A sickening crunch sounded, followed by small snaps and cracks. Every time this creature moved, it’s bones grinded and clattered together.

Such a well written book and the story really drags you in, I’ve enjoyed reading this so much and hope a sequel comes out. I really feel this book should be printed, I’d read it over and over again. The book is long but it’s well worth it.
Therese Dahlqvist
The author has a fantastic ability to keep me on the edge of my seat and a great ability to describe the scenery around the characters. I find the characters to be mostly well defined and consistent throughout the book. There are some typos and incorrect grammar, but not enough to disturb me complet
