I jumped back, startled by his sudden appearance.
Looking at the man with bloodshot eyes, I instinctively stepped away. "Sir, you scared me. Please leave immediately, or I'll call the police."
Theo froze. He stared at the unfamiliarity in my eyes. His last thread of reason snapped.
Then he laughed, softly at first, then hysterically. "You forgot everything… Hahaha… It's gone. The pain is gone…"
I couldn't bear it and closed the window.
