Walker took a sip of coffee from his thermos and sighed. “I’m a dead man, Evans...” Evans rolled his eyes, “Stop with the dramatics. We’re going to be OK. What do you see?” Walker thought about it and decided he had no choice but to tell them. It was for the best—maybe they could help. “We’re at the ball and we’re doing the thing and then I die...that’s it..I’m dead.” Metgar moved closer, “Details, Walker...” Walker jumped off the tailgate of the truck and threw his hands up in the air.

Men on his back got alerted and pointed their guns on my direction. As if they can kill me. I pointed the gun to the guy. “Even if you kill me, you cannot escape. My death will costs nothing. My fellowmen will catch you anyway,” the man said heartlessly, as if he fear nothing at all. Even the death itself. My heart shrinked, because he was right. I might be able to kill him, but not everyone he was with. And even if I kill him, there would be no escape of me. I never felt so hopeless before.

"I know, and I'm glad to die by your hand." I forced the words out as tears rolled down my cheeks. Finally, I could rest.

The weight of silence settled over us as he stood and gets dressed. “It's almost sad to watch you die, you are, afterall a good fuck, but you must pay for your crimes.” He turned and left, I curled into a ball and reserved the last apparel of shame I had left.

Not after absolutely everything that happened. He sat down without saying a single word. When I reached for another shot glass, he took it from my hand and quickly drank it himself. I stared at him, completely shocked, then poured another glass. He took that one too and drank it slowly and deliberately. We sat there in complete silence for a very long time. Finally, he spoke. “You look exactly like a dead man walking,” he said quietly. “If you’re actively planning to die early, please do it somewhere else completely.”
