Heather’s POV I blinked, staring at the three men standing before me as I tried to process what I had heard. But no matter how much I tried, none of it made sense. A small, disbelieving laugh escaped me. “Alright, this isn’t funny.” The smiles on their faces slowly faded. “I think you’ve mistaken me for someone else,” I said, shaking my head. “I’m not… whomever you think I am.” The room fell silent once again, and I swallowed, forcing myself to stay calm despite how fast my heart was racing. “My name is Heather.” My voice grew firmer. “Heather Cole.”

Kate POV “I Challenge Katelyn Adams for the Alpha title of the Golden Moon Pack!”. I couldn’t believe what I had heard. It was resonating through my mind, without fully comprehending. Looking into the crowd I wait for the voice to come forward. It’s familiar but with the crowd who jumped up loudly the voice was lost in the crowd.

7:45, Heather arrived the lobby and was welcomed by Ben. She was wearing a thick red gown and a black hill shoe. Ben was surprised when he saw her. He was carrying two glasses of wine. “Oh mamacita, you look just like Anna” Ben stood beside her and stared at her head to toe. “You look good too Ben” Heather smiled to him. “I’m glad you came” he handed one glass of wine to Heather. “There are many people in here already?”

All eyes turned to the woman who had just stepped out onto the back deck. Heather. She wore white jeans, a white jacket, and a bright yellow top, with not a hint of Abby’s signature pink anywhere on her. He watched as Abby lifted her head, a hopeful look on her face, and then the sadness he saw as she realized her mother hadn’t done the one thing she’d asked. In a sea of every shade of pink imaginable, Heather stood out like a sore thumb which was probably her intention. Heather hated it when anyone else was in the spotlight, even if that other person was her daughter.
