When the elevator doors opened to the underground garage, I spotted Hector immediately. He was leaning against a black SUV, his face grim. My gut tightened. The victory champagne immediately lost its fizz.
“Report, Hector,” I demanded, dropping Sage’s hand and walking toward him.
Hector glanced quickly at Sage, then back at me. He looked worried, which was rare. “I need a word, Boss. Private.”
I didn’t like that. I hated that. “Anything you have to say, you can say in front of Sage.”
