There was a clear creaking sound in the air, and the light yellow longbow was slowly drawn back. In the end, the longbow was pulled like a full moon, and its whole body dazzled with a pale yellow light. There was a flash of brilliance on the bowstring, and a pale yellow arrow slowly took shape out of thin air. That bow was enormous, almost as tall as a man. The body of the bow was simple, unadorned, gleaming with yellow light. As if carved out of stone, it was devoid of runes or patterns. The yellow arrow on the bowstring was more than two meters long; with bold shape, it glowed with golden light.

Flora lounged on the couch, her eyes following Whiskerton's playful antics. The little ginger kitten was leaping at dust motes, swatting them with his tiny paws, his tail flicking with intense concentration. The kitten's boundless energy and childlike wonder were infectious. An urge to spoil this little ball of fluff welled up within her. Flora chuckled softly, entertained by his simple joy. It was a welcome distraction from the monotony of her recovery period.

Shielding the poster board from the electric fan with her own body, she sits on her haunches to pick them up. The letters are: Y, E, T, K, and A. Kate’s raises an eyebrow. After picking up the five letters, she brings all of them back to the table. She arranges the five letters on the tabletop and spells out her nickname: KATEY. She proceeds to play with the rest of the letters.

I stared long and hard at the device, then up at Kade. His eyes were hungrier than I'd ever seen them. He offered the toy to me, and I collected it with trembling hands.

She cooed softly and bounced me lightly in her arms. “See?” she murmured, voice gentle. “He’s not angry. He’s just talking.” I buried my face in her neck to stop myself from yowling. My ears twitched in anger, my tail flicked in exasperation, and my fur practically bristled with every ounce of dignity I had left. Katia, if you don’t come back soon, I might actually lose my mind. Bob wasn’t done. “You know what we need? A little bell collar. Bright red. With rhinestones. That way, if he tries to sneak up on anyone, we’ll hear him coming.”

I stood up, but Ivy held out her hand, telling me to give her space. “You know,” She crouched to be eye level with her, power radiating from her body. “Kittens are so small and cute, aren’t they?” “What?” Skyler looked scared of her. My heart was in my throat. "Meow~" A tiny sound came from the darkness. There, in the corner, scared by the sudden light, was a little ball of fur. A round head with round eyes, a pink nose, short legs, golden fur on its back, and soft white fur from neck to belly. I melted instantly. Quickly setting down my "weapon," I held out my hand to the kitten, making my voice soft and coaxing. "Here, kitty. Don't be afraid, come here..."
