So, we got dressed and headed out for the day's adventure. It is seventy-three miles on a twisting, turning, elevation changing, mostly two lane road from Cambria to my favorite restaurant on the west coast of the United States, Nepenthe. On a freeway seventy-three miles is just about an hours ride. On the coast highway, on a motorcycle, it takes longer. Add in the time for a couple of scenic overlooks and it was lunch time when we arrived.

There was only raw, absolute power, hammered into the very throat of the mountain. The gates were massive—two towering slabs of iron and dark, reinforced steel that looked like they had been forged in the fires of hell itself. As we approached, they didn't just open; they groaned, a deep, resonant sound of tortured metal that vibrated through the floorboards of the car and rattled in my chest.

“Guess you didn’t read those books as thoroughly as you thought.” It took them a few more minutes of stumbling around to find the entrance. The door was obscured by a semi-circle of trees. It was a rectangular building with a locked gate in front of stone stairs that echoed down into the dead earth. The name above the entrance was nearly gone. Jon rubbed his hands across it and could barely make out the surname “Goodleburg”, the family who had donated the land. An old lock had been smashed off long ago and replaced by a modern one wrapped around a thick chain. Louis jerked it. “We ain’t gettin’ in there.”

The giant turned its dead eyes on the small Demon and gave a rotted grin and a small wave of his decayed hand. "Morning 'Kai." The giant returned his greeting before he continued his walking through the lava. "That's his second lap this morning." Felix chipped in as he stepped over a small three-step staircase to the next rocky landing. "Really now? He gets faster every year." Zalakai said almost proudly. A castle stood out against the fiery sky. The obsidian stonework shined in the light as it stood strong on a small mountain that overlooked a lake of lava. The iron gates squealed open, skeleton guards at the ready as they bypassed them and continued to follow the dirt trail up to the castl

“Okay well we will gather our troops and dispatch them to the hideouts so they can be our eyes up high, the mines will be our alerts from below and the rest of us just have to be prepared for what comes in the middle, I just wish we could figure out a way to get rid of this damned hellfire!” “What is that?” I turn to see a portal open “stand down it is my Mother-In-Law” she comes through the portal and looks around “ah, there you are”, she comes over to me “there is something I need to tell you quickly, well the most important being the hellsfire, it will act as a gateway from the under world, so you need to assign people to guard around it at all times because the things that will crawl up

I can see one of his guards is calling him. That sneaky asshole. He winced when I glared at him then he bowed down his head at me kinda in a of asking apology. I didn't spare him a glance as I started to walk fastly by holding my stomach. As I got near the lift I halted when I heard a moaning sound coming from the right side of the lift. It's a parking lot, many cars and bikes have been parked. "Ahhh... Mmmmm....mmmm ohhh yes yes"

Chapter 56 Selene’s skirts swished against her ankles as she strode toward the lower gates of hell. As she passed the inhabitants of the realm, many greeted or bowed as she passed. 'Good day, Mother,’ was repeated constantly before she started down the stone steps to the first gates of hell. There were seven gates altogether and the worse ones were down these steps.

In the back of my damn head. The further we drive, the darker it gets. I’m talking pitch black creeping in fast, like someone’s slowly pulling a blanket over the town. I look around and shake my head. “What the fuck is this place, Mark?” I ask, right as we roll up to this huge black gate. And not just any gate. This thing is massive and creepy as hell, with a freaking skull carved dead center. The kind of shit you’d see in horror movies. Mark just stares ahead like it’s nothing. “This... is Moon River.”

Well, that person had used another word that Billy refused to say out loud. “Hold on, my love! I’m coming to you! I will save you from this nightmare and take you home!” Billy whispered again, stepping on the gas. “I swear that I will never leave you alone again!” It was raining so heavily that if it hadn’t been for the GPS system, Billy would’ve never made it to Pacific Heights. All of a sudden, the city seemed unknown to him. In that instant, the neighborhood seemed to Billy one big evil maze that was protecting that bastard and keeping him away from his love.
